What People Are Saying
from Google"Insomnia Cookies is a chain founded in 2003 that sells warm, fresh, cookies; there are 17 types of cookies as well as brownies, ice cream, and other baked goods. It is headquartered in New York and Philadelphia; there are approximately 265 locations. They are usually located near Universities and opens later than other bakeries, hence the name, Insomnia. Students and customers who wants cookies and desserts, can get some very late, up to 3 am. We walked by and wanted to try it out. The shop was small and cute. There was a short line but it moved quickly. The customer service was good. We had a variety of cookies; I thoroughly enjoyed the snicker doodle; it's warm and soft in the middle. Overall, a nice spot to get your sweet tooth fix!"
"service with a smile and cookies that will make the worst diabetic jealous..... any time youre in New Haven, this place is a MUST. BUT MAKE SURE U ORDER EXTRA FOR HOME!!! ONE OF THE BEST DESERT PLACES AROUND. I still by my original review, but even stronger. I just want the bonus points for updating my review, lol!!!!!"
"Insomnia is one of my go-to cookie shops! I’ve never had a bad experience here. The cookies are always perfectly done - not raw in the middle, but the right amount of melty. We thought the ice cream was great and couldn’t get over how big the cookie sandwich was! The staff always works quickly to get us our treats, and it’s nice that there’s a few seats, because the ice cream never would’ve lasted if we took it to go. Already can’t wait for my next visit!"
"This place is a disaster. There was one very rushed, over worked young man attempting to hold down the entire front of the store on a Sunday evening at 7pm. I felt so bad for him. He was very sweet, polite, and as helpful and good to the guests as one can be when you have 9 people waiting to order and 4 people waiting for pick up and the door is still opening! BUT the line was literally backed up to the door and then a second line formed for pick up orders. Meanwhile, I hear all these loud mouth people blabbing away in the kitchen in the back. It sounded like one VERY loud woman (maybe 2?) I could also hear a man's voice as well. Well they were blabbing and swearing and talking junk about somebody, I saw one other young man walk out one time with carry out orders. It was CRAZY!!!! Whoever is running this store is absolutely slacking. My son and I came to pick up 2 door dash orders and I was going to order him a treat. Nope 🙅♀️ we were standing there for 10 minutes waiting for pick up!? Which was ready! It was sitting in the kitchen while this poor kid ran himself ragged and his "coworkers" hung out. This is downtown New Haven ya'll. People (like me) are paying for parking. You need to be on your game. Get people in and get em served and out. You shouldn't have 15 people in the lobby with one worker out front. Management/Owners, pull the security footage around 7pm Sunday 11/9. You'll see!!!!"
"Update: 4/14/25 this location continues to shine with people like Crystal R. You are a Star. Truly exceptional customer service she is well put together well spoken professional she is able to manage large droves of customers at a time with poise and elegance . You can tell she is giving 100% and beyond she is passionate about what she does and can help inform customers about new cookies and staples.Crystal is an absolute sweetheart attentive all the above I wish her all the success. Tina S. and I’m convinced the S stands for Star. She really made my insomnia cookies order experience that much sweeter (pun intended) came for cookies left with great convo. One thing I noticed about Aina if she has ability to manage and maneuver a large customer base her personality is fun and exciting she is professional courteous kind she’s very informative and I feel like she genuinely cares about the people she interacts with I am a very new customer and have only been to Insomnia three times first time I was treated and twice now as a customer. I said that to say I still don’t know what I’m doing and someone was like it’s just cookies however trying to utilize the rewards system has come with a learning curve she spoke to me about that and so many of the other offerings.Tina is a blessing to this franchise I hope to continue to see her upon my visits."
