"I’ve visited this place twice now, and both times I’ve been impressed with the quality of the food - fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Yes, it takes a little time, but that’s because everything is made to order, which they’re upfront about. If you’re expecting something pre-made or super quick, this might not be the right spot but if you’re looking for a thoughtfully prepared meal, it’s well worth the wait. Some reviews mentioned the coffee not being standout, and I’d agree it’s not their main focus. If you’re after a basic latte, it’s perfectly enjoyable but don’t come expecting a coffeehouse-style menu. That said, the food more than makes up for it. I think part of the confusion comes from the name. “Cafe” might lead people to expect a fast-casual coffee shop, when this is really more of a diner-style restaurant with elevated food. It’s not a Starbucks it’s better, if you’re there for a meal. And a big plus: Ralph, the owner, is welcoming and clearly passionate about what he does. It’s refreshing to see that level of care in a small business. I’ll definitely be back again."

"Food taste amazing and the size is huuuuuuuge. The way Rauph talk about his food, it's just make you want to try everything. And THEY ARE GOOOOD and a generous portion. The staff are nice and even we're the first time here, we can tell because every table looks like "the friends" then that say something about this restaurant. Last but not least, it's by a beautiful creek and make everything even more perfect for a sunny afternoon. Will definitely come back more often!"

"Five star service from the moment we stepped inside. Personal attention from the chef who described his specials and gave recommendations. The food was better than anything that has graced our palates in recent memory. I had to fight my kids off of my stuffed French Toast. We all three cleaned our plates. Location was beautiful and comfortable. Cannot wait to return during our travels."

"I really feel like ive been living under a rock because i haven't tasted something this good in a very long time. Everything about this dish had my taste buds dancing with each and ever bite i took. I forget the gentleman name that took our order , but he was wonderful. Havent had service like that in a very long time. He took the time to tell us in details how he prepared each dish. You can tell with each bite i took this food was made with love and passion. I even took it home and made a sandwich out of the two biscuits i had left over with the very tasteful chicken paddy. Felt like home when you walked in. Very beautifully breath taking view of the river out side. Over all im very impressed and wondering why theres no places like this around my home town in Norwalk. If there is i havent found it yet."

"It was my first time eating at the Sandy Hook Cafe and I was impressed by the serene ambiance of outdoor seating overlooking a stream. For brunch I ordered the crab cake over blackened eggs which sounded like a crab cake eggs benedict. It came with a very large side salad. My husband ordered a similar entree with smoked salmon with a dill sauce and capers over blackened eggs. Both were delicious and are highly recommended. Overall it was a great experience. The waitress was friendly and the chef came out and was very welcoming, describing all the dishes. We had been invited by my in-laws to celebrate our anniversary and they must have told him as he wished us a happy anniversary and even gave us complimentary cannolis before we left!"
