"It’s not everyday you find a bakery/cafe that makes the corners of your mouth head north! What a treat it was to grab breakfast (and a few other delicacies) at the Daily Rise in Sandy Hook. This little oasis located at 105 Church Hill Road has outrageously good sourdough breads, muffins, pastry, breakfast & lunch options. I tried an exceptionally good seasonal gingerbread muffin this morning along with an Italian flared egg sandwich that was stacked with sautéed zucchini, fresh burrata, farm fresh eggs & topped with a chiffonade of basil, a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil, sandwiched between their sublimely delicious toasted sourdough bread. It was truly a masterpiece! The quality of the food wasn’t the only high point - the owner, Peter Stella (former executive chef at Paci in Southport) was as kind as they come. The coffee was bold and extremely smooth, and the cafe style seating was comfortable and welcoming. I purchased a few additional goodies (sourdough English muffins and some treats for the holidays) that I can’t wait to try. My friends and I are eager to go back for more!"
