"We had Garelick and Herbs cater a Party at a beautiful venue in Westport in August 2024. There were 21 people who attended. I rented this particular venue because it had an open kitchen and the caterer required an oven on premises. Also, I was required to hire a “Chef” and 2 assistants from them. We had an hour cocktail hour outside which was very nicely done followed by dinner inside. This is where the disappointment occurred. They did a very nice presentation with the buffet however none of the food was prepared properly. The Chicken Parmesans cheese was not melted onto the chicken and they served the marinara sauce on the side .The chicken Francaise also was not baked with its sauce. Needless to say, the food was dry and tasteless. Cooking food in their sauces is was gives it its flavor. The Caesar salad was not mixed with the dressing as requested. We were serving the food on plates and our guests had no way to try to assemble the salad properly. We did request the salad to be dressed and prepared as a normal Caesar salad would be serves Needless to say, the Chef did not know how to prepare the food for a party. This was served as if I bought it from behind their counter in their store. I would not recommend them for catering. We did reach out to the owner and the woman in charge of catering but they were not sympathetic. We spend thousands of dollars and they only reimbursed us $200 and that was done reluctantly. I would not recommend them for catering ."

"My wife found a staple in her Cesar wrap. The people at register are unfriendly, have poor judgment and bad customer service. I’ve grown in in CT and it’s been hard watching this place decline in service, value and operational excellence."

The chefs do a great job, especially with their salads and pasta salads—they’re fresh, well-made, and just taste really good. It’s my go-to spot when I need something quick or when I’m planning a party. The quality is always consistent, and you can tell they put thought into what they make. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area."

"I hosted a 50th birthday party for my wife at our house in Monroe, CT, with the yard all done up, tent, bar, etc. Garelick & Herbs came recommended as a caterer, and without question, I don't believe I could have made a better choice. They took time with me on the front end (prior to the event), including a site visit at my home, to help me with food choices, to determine the size of the wait staff, and to finalize what they would bring and I would have to provide. The day of the event, they showed up on-time (2hrs before the party started), helped set everything up, and they were an absolute joy to work with. The quality of the food was beyond superb, and the service provided by the wait staff was off-the-charts excellent. And there was virtually no clean-up needed when they left after the party ended! I still have guests from the party talking about the food and the service. I plan to use G&H again for future catering needs, and I would highly recommend them. Definite 5-star experience!"
