"I’ve been a few times and always had great service and yummy food. The coffees are top notch! Always ask for a recommendation for what you are in the mood for and the staff will find the perfect treat! When Zach posted last week about biscuits available by the dozen I was sold! I didn’t expect an 8pm email for an 8am pick up to be answered but I was ever so excited when I was answered w a yes!!! Bright and early pick up and off to share w salon staff that RAVED!!! Thanks guys❤️"

"Beautiful little coffee spot by the shoreline. Truly a hidden little gem, the cease & desist iced latte had a aimple & unique taste with their homemade peanut butter syrup. The service was exceptional & super friendly. Grab a chocolate chip cookie bar as well it’s soft & sweet perfection!!! Update : They now have opens their coffee shop by Short Beach & it’s a must visit ! Absolutely amazing and cozy spot."

"Location! Location! Location! The Drowsy Whaler is within walking distance of my condo and the beach. I stopped by for coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised they had pastries and breakfast foods! The biscuit was deeee-licious! The service was very friendly. I had caramel latte, bacon-egg-cheese biscuit, and a huge warm blueberry muffin. Everything hit the spot! Tasty! They open at 7am, so I can definitely see this being a spot that I frequent on my way to work or on Saturday before I start errands. It's quaint and relaxing."

"When I first went to Drowsy Whaler on 09/05/25, after having a coworker hype them up to me daily, along with countless family members and friends doing the same, I knew they had to be good. Sure enough, I was already blown away by the size of their parking lot (that they share with the golf course right there too, but, still—plenty of spaces to choose from), their remarkable presentation, and how absolutely beautiful they decorate and hold their own inside says everything as well. Mackenzie had taken my order for the first time and was an absolute sweetheart, and is the reason why I get the same drink almost every single time as a true regular now because it’s just that awe-strikingly GOOD. One large iced butterscotch latte with whole milk. For the fall right now as well, their pumpkin chocolate chip loaf is mouthwateringly delicious to try with it. Everything is baked/made from scratch in-house, with southern roots that show through gloriously, and they seriously do have some of the best coffee I have ever had. I know coffee as a proud enthusiast from the ripe age of pre-teen years onward, and they certainly know it too. The only coffee I have ever tried that has the perfect balance of milk, espresso, and syrup/sweetener every time. The perfect trio spot-on. Props to y’all for that alone, you’re already taking out 75% of your competitors what that in mind. My only complaint is to offer up bigger cup sizes or even buckets of it for that matter, I don’t care how you do it, most days I’m ordering two larges of my order for myself because it’s just that freaking good. Ask Mackenzie, she knows. I love being first in line at 8 a.m. due to the word of mouth about this gem getting across vastly and causing quite the line at times, but if you’re an earlier bird have no fear and feel free to get there before they open with me. Even this morning when I walked in, their entire front of house staff greeted me by name, and made my morning along with their energy and generosity. Always top-notch service, and when there is a line, they do know how to move it fast. Always worth the wait. Their seasonal drink menus are all the buzz on social media (Follow them!! Get to know them!! So sweet and down to Earth!!) and locals know to get them while you can/supplies last. Not to say they don’t stock up on supplies well, I can assure you that they do, but they have such heavy foot traffic that everything does move along impressively fast. I also must say they have the prettiest floral arrangements as a fellow florist that absolutely adores seeing their weekly arrangements in action. Makes all the difference with warmth in a cozy setting. They go above and beyond for customers daily, and especially their younger ones, too. Pups are welcome and my pup personally loves their free water and generous pup cups. A gathering spot for all to enjoy. If you haven’t swung by already, definitely be sure to do so, solo or with your go-tos, as this is certainly the place to be as the best coffee shop in all of CT in my personal opinion and experience. I finally got some of their merch this morning and can’t wait to spread the good word of mouth and apparel some more with their coffee in hand. Drowsy Whaler, please keep up the outstanding work and know how much we all truly needed you to set down roots in this area. Your truck by the Sea Wall was amazing too, but this is growth to a whole new level and speed. You are truly amazing and the way you even take care of your staff says it all too. I have never seen such happy employees at all times of the day and with such healthy relationships with their bosses. 100/10. So important. Just please get bigger cups! ❤️ Love, one of your many regular customers ;)"

"Wonderful new spot to get some grub! Was a fan of their food truck for a while now & the new space expands upon their already delicious cinematic universe. We had the strawberry scone, blueberry sparkle muffin & sour cream coffee cake. All were delectable dances on the SS Tastebud. Recommend all of the above & washing it down with some grog while singing sea shanties. Staff & owners are super friendly and the space itself shines. If you find yourself in Stratford, dock yourself here & if you’re not, charter a vessel. You won’t regret it!"
