from Google & Yelp"Utterly delicious. I came from Crystal City specifically to eat at Amen Cafe because of the reviews, and it was completely worth the trip. Food was perfect, very sweet service (I felt like I was invited into a home), and a relaxing atmosphere to boot. It’s even right next to the metro! I literally could not have asked for more, this was exactly what I needed while traveling DC for business. Snapped me out of that hotel food mental haze."
"Amen Café is my favorite Ethiopian Cafe in DC. They have everything from staple to specialty dishes, and classic café sandwich/meal options that most full capacity restaurants do not have. I truly think everyone can find something they like. My favorites are the firfir, breakfast platter, smoothies and ginger tea. Britz is the absolute sweetest host and heightens the homey and calming feeling of the cafe."
"Sadly, no longer serving Ethiopian food, smoothies, or coffee beverages besides black coffee. They also ran out of all fish dishes on a Monday. Food to a while to arrive, though the price was reasonable. But the mac and cheese was pretty bland, awfully greasy, and the cheese wasn't even fully melted. Bread pudding was pretty good. Jerk chicken was definitely good, but not as spicy as I expected/preferred."
"Great location to grab a quick breakfast en route to the Metro, serving a selection of coffees, teas, smoothies, juices, pastries, and plated foods (the breakfast platter looked enticing). For a small shop in a row of small shops, Amen stands out; you can see and feel the care put into it. The staff was helpful, offering suggestions to tailor my order. For whatever it’s worth, they do not serve decaf."
"A cozy little cafe that offers the perfect respite from the cold outside. The owner is incredibly kind and friendly, and the food is delicious! Wish I got to try more of the traditional Ethiopian selections on the menu, but all the more reason to go back ☺️"
"A beautiful & intimate cafe' that gave warmth & comfort as soon as I walked in. The barista (or manager) Briket (spell check) was very welcoming & knew just..."
