What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"Nestled inside a truly special plant shop (PLNTR) is this truly special cafe, named after one of the owners’ sons! The pour-over coffee is fantastic, the vibes are immaculate (think chill tunes, gorgeous foliage, cozy seating options), and co-owner Carolina is knowledgeable, friendly, and just plain cool."

"My favorite coffee destination in the DMV! This cafe carries top-shelf single-origin coffees from several roasters, both local and international. Both of the pour-overs that we sampled—namely, a washed Colombian and a honey-processed Hawaiian—were aromatic and perfectly extracted. The batch brew is also excellent. Coffee aside, the cafe also affords a wonderful ambiance. It’s nestled within a plant store so that one can sip coffee while appreciating the verdant vegetation on offer."

"This is the kind place you stumble upon and think to yourself, damn I'm lucky! I hope this place blows up! By far the best hidden DC coffee shop gem. Beautifully decorated, run by a superbly friendly guy with two adorable kids (one of whose name inspired the name of the place). Delicious, delicate blends and perfect WiFi. Great ambiance, great people, beautiful vibes. All around 10/10. Just know they only do drip and tea!"

"This cafe has been on my list to try for about a year now, and I am sad I never got around to it earlier! I have been in a rut of drinking sugary milky lattes. Now there is nothing wrong with that of course! But I have been craving a classic iced coffee, one where I can really taste the flavor of the beans. I very much got that here! I ordered an iced coffee with a little bit of half and half. It was so delicious and the half and half ratio was perfect. I will absolutely be back."

"Outstanding specialty coffee in a little room in the back of PLANTR. Ron, the owner, has a huge variety of unique premium beans to choose from and will guide you to find a coffee you like. He only does pour-over for now, but he said he will be doing espresso drinks soon. It’s a really great atmosphere drinking coffee among the plants and the smell of dried flowers."

"So, the cafe is in the very back of a plant shop as a separate business. I would recommend this spot if you're into plants. The coffee options are minimal...."
