What People Are Saying

"This location is walkable from my office in DuPont. The outdoor seating facing the street is quite refreshing. The staff here is expertly trained in proper pour overs. My Americano was pretty good and it's convenient hat they have a few drinks on draft. I haven't seen that in many coffee shops definitely a neat feature. I didn't try any food so my review is only regarding service and drinks. If you purchase a canned coffee, you get $1 off a coffee drink. Z"

"I stumbled into this place about five years ago, one of those duck-ins to get out of the rain. It turned into one of those rare experiences you don’t plan and don’t forget. The coffee was excellent, the lattes well made, and the bakery solid—but the real reason this place stuck with me was the person I met there. A woman in her mid-70s, sharp as a tack. After a short conversation, she pegged me as a conservative almost instantly—and she was one too. What followed was fascinating. She had spent decades connected to the media and Washington, D.C., and her firsthand stories about how deeply left-leaning the government and press really are were eye-opening. Suddenly, a lot of recent history made more sense. She explained how genuinely frightened many people were during Trump’s first term—terrified of what might be exposed, and not just on one side of the aisle. Even plenty of Republicans wanted nothing to do with him back then. She told me she comes here every day but stays quiet unless she knows you’re “safe.” Forty years on the Hill gives you that instinct, I guess. So yes, go for the great coffee, the lattes, and the baked goods. But if you’re lucky, you might also find yourself sharing a table with someone who has seen behind the curtain—and is willing to talk."
