What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Had a totally different lunch plan… until a sandwich board seduced me. I was strolling through Penn Quarter when Le Pain Quotidien’s sign for a crookie (yes, a chocolate-chip-cookie-meets-croissant situation) stopped me in my tracks. The irony is that I didn’t even order it this time! I stepped inside “just to peek” at the bakery case, which was showing off an everything croissant, a pear-ginger bread, and a few other temptations; and somehow found myself browsing the full menu. One look at the everything-croissant egg sandwich with Gruyère and my fate was sealed. It arrived with a simple green salad and honestly… it hit every note: warm, cheesy, flaky, savory. Pure comfort. For dessert, I was enticed by their passion fruit tart. It was a tropical dream, bright, tangy with a velvety custard that makes you pause just to appreciate the moment. The ambience at LPQ is relaxed and comfy, which makes it perfect for a meeting, getting work done, or grabbing a bite between adventures. There’s indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting), and a cute little market corner with cookbooks and spreads if you love a good take-home treat."
"I stopped by Le Pain Quotidien in Washington, DC for breakfast, looking for something freshly baked and simple. The café has a calm, rustic atmosphere with natural lighting and a relaxed setup that makes it easy to enjoy a slow morning. I ordered the scrambled eggs on croissant with smoked salmon and avocado, served with a small side salad. The croissant was warm and flaky, the eggs soft and seasoned nicely, and the smoked salmon and avocado added a rich, fresh balance. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared without feeling heavy. The service was courteous and efficient, and the overall experience was pleasant and unpretentious. A good spot for a quiet breakfast or light brunch in the city fresh food, good coffee, and a comfortable atmosphere"
"We stumbled onto this place after leaving Ford's Theatre. We ordered a vanilla latte, a waffle, and a egg & avocado sandwich. The price was great for portion sizes and we could tell everything was made from scratch! Do yourself a favor and order the bacon as well."
"I absolutely enjoyed my visit at Le Pain Quotidien! The inside of the cafe is absolutely splendid. I loved how it was very minimalistic. I ordered the German chocolate crookie, it was amazing! They do not skimp on the cookie! I would definitely recommend stopping by to grab a small bite to eat or a lunch!"
"A warm, cozy and cabin style atmosphere let down by the bland food. - Had a hot chocolate on a cold morning. Absolutely horrible. What I got is some chocolate and a bowl of not warm skim milk? How can someone make hot chocolate complicated and bad? - The egg, cheddar and avocado sandwich was absolutely bland. Dry bread, fried egg, slice of avacado with some green salad. While salad was ok, sandwich was quite underwhelming. - The saving grace was Belgian waffle. What lacks in quantity makes it in taste. Aptly sweet with great butter cream and fruits."
"The ambiance is lovely for brunch, with a quiet and classy vibe. I ordered the Ham and Cheese Croissant and a Matcha Latte with oat milk. I was hoping to..."
