from Google & Yelp"Went to Merry Pin for a Comedy & Craft night event recently and enjoyed it. I definitely will go back during the day time to check it out. It’s such a cute place and great concept to have a craft store, bar and space for crafting, which is becoming more popular. Merry Pin, located in the Upper Northwest section of DC on Georgia Ave., has a craft store and bar on the main level and then an open space upstairs. The bar had specialty cocktails in cute holiday themed mugs, which I’ll have to check out next time. With Halloween approaching in a few weeks, I noticed that one of the other guests had a cocktail in cauldron with a light in it. I noticed lightbulb glasses at the bar, so that is a mystery I will explore at a later date. If you’re a crafter, Merry Pin is a place you’ll likely enjoy. I only had a brief time to look around as they were closing when the event ended, but they seemed to have almost every type of craft and related supplies on hand. It looks like Merry Pin hosts classes and special events, if you check their calendar in advance. You can bring your own crafting or there were some crafting supplies available at the event. Merry Pin has a few small tables downstairs in addition to the bar and craft shop."
"I made a reservation for my friends and I. We've created a crochet group and we wanted to meet here for the first time. This place is quaint, quiet, and a craft lovers dream. I purchased right many items costing a little over $200+ dollars including food, beverages, and novelty items. My takeaways: 1. This business is a safe space for everyone especially the LBGTQIA+ Community. 🎊🏳️🌈🎊 2. The hot apple cider was so good on a cool Fall day like it was yesterday. It was a hug in a glass mug. 🤗☕💕 I loved it. 3. I had the breakfast empanada. The pastry was flaky, buttery, and delicious. It was so tiny that you could actually eat it in one bite. I didn't know this or I would have ordered two. 🤭😁😄 Ms. Linda had a hot chocolate and a vegan empanada. She said that it was, "Scrumptious." Ria had the hash browns and an apple cider. She said that it was, "Really Good." 😄😄😄 4. We were so grateful to find this place thanks to another friend who was supposed to meet us, however, her plans changed, so we decided to go check it out and give her feedback on the great spot that she chose. 5. This place is so inviting that we actually made a new friend named Alex and she was doing Tunisian crochet or something like that. I was interested in the technique of the crochet she was doing, so I invited her to join us upstairs. She happily obliged and we certainly enjoyed her company. 6. Merry Pin has some very imaginative and creative bookmakers designed and crafted by kids for $10 bucks each. What a nifty idea this is. I love it. ❤️🥰❤️ I thought I had gotten a photo of the QR Code, but sadly I didn't. Dang. 7. Crafting classes are offered here. Check the schedule on the Merry Pin website for more details. 8. There is so much inside this little store that you can almost get overwhelmed. I did. 😄😄😄 I just started buying up everything from calligraphy sets, iron-on patches, and some stickers for my daughter and her friend. All I can say is budget yourself accordingly. 😄😄😄 All in all this is a great little shop and the staff were so friendly. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stars."
"I love Merry Pin so much. Always feel welcomed by the super friendly staff. They have a great diversity of art and crafting materials so I always check her first before I got to the big corporate entities. I’ve taken a bunch of classes and love the community that convenes around the events. Lovely little snacks and teas as well. Just a great addition to the neighborhood! Also they have monks cloth and weavers cloth by the yard!"
"We had a great time at the 21+ Craft Night at Merry Pin! We were initially looking into a private rental which also seems like a really cool option. The craft night ended up being perfect for our group of 12 and we were able to reserve our spots ahead of time. Megan was very responsive to my emails before the event. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my festive margarita served in a light bulb glass with a glow stick straw! This is a really cute spot and I definitely want to come back to explore the shop more. I was worried about parking but there were a lot of spots along Georgia Ave so it wasn't an issue at all. I had ordered online before but this was my first time visiting and I'll definitely be back!"
"I'm OBSESSED with Merry Pin. It is the cutest craft/coffee shop and bar and my favorite neighborhood spot. Visit once and you too will see why it is a Happy place that you will want to return to again and again. Make something today and I'll be back tomorrow!! Right on Georgia Ave with its cute signs and decor, it's easy to find and easier to love. There is something for every type of crafter at every different level. Come for a coffee, a craft or a class and tell them Morgan sent you 😉"
"My breakfast was delicious, and a joy. Our server, Andy, was very prompt, friendly and helpful. I had the southwestern omelet - delicious. I also had..."
