What People Are Saying
from Google"We just landed in DC for vacation and were waiting on our Air BNB. We walked down to Old City Market and Oven. We were greeted by a wonderful gentleman, but we didn’t get his name. He asked if we needed to store our bags and we laughed and said yes, thinking he was joking. He stored our carry-ons. There is a great area downstairs to sit and relax. The iced coffee was delicious. The personal pizza was cooked to perfection. This store has a little bit of everything. Fresh bread, stuffed grape leaves, Mediterranean tuna salad, wine, sangria and so much more. We met Brittany who sells bags of surplus food. My pictures have her info. The bags are amazing deals. Such a nice human. Although everything was amazing from the atmosphere to the food, what made this a memorable visit, was the young gentleman and his great personality. He gave us so many alternative suggestions on where to visit since our government decided to throw a temper tantrum and close. While I am here I plan on visiting every day for an iced coffee. Highly recommend."
"Old City Market and Oven. A long history within the community. They have incredible sandwiches for lunch during the week and weekend and fresh baked goods. On Fridays they also have wine tastings. This Sunday morning I was told they do a handful of fresh burritos and breakfast pizzas. I opted for the chicken, egg, bean, onion and pepper burrito. Truly satisfying per usual. They have incredible art throughout the interior and downstairs several records and a seating areas. The staff are always welcome, helpful, and knowledgeable. Whenever I’m in the area or just passing by I tend to come in."
"Really nice market. Huge selection of wine and beer, and a bunch of other food random ideas to pick from. They also sell coffee and quick bites like pizza pastries, and other little items. At 4 they open the kitchen for a larger menu selection. Unfortunately I didn't get to eat there but the food look amazing and I need to go back for a full review! But my favorite thing about the place is the setting down streets! It feels cozy and has a welcoming feeling. It's the main reason why I won't hesitate to go back."
"Great convenience shop in the area. Their sandwiches are great but they don't make custom ones until 2pm. They make the bread in house as far as I know, so it's be the best around. Coffee choices and creation are lacking but it's there if you want. Always friendly staff! Sometimes they have wine tasting events. Super friendly to doggos, just ask for a pet treat cause they got them. Also apparently have a printer in the downstairs area? It's an all around great place you should check out and support, especially if you live nearby."
"Authentic people that are passionate about food! Every time these folks have gone above and beyond to make it a cozy and satisfying experience. Also, the downstairs has a wonderful jazzy vibe, great place to eat or work."
