"Such a hidden gem in Claymont! I happened upon Java Bean Coffee Shop while passing through town, and I’m so glad I did. Alexi was an amazing barista — super friendly and made my coffee perfectly. What seemed to be the owner even made sure my order was right, checked in with me, and as I left actually called me by name and wished me a great day — such a personal touch! The whole vibe is cozy and welcoming, with lots of local artwork for sale (100% goes back to the artists, which I love!). It’s also a great spot to get some work done — quiet, comfortable, and lots of yummy food options. There’s even a little TV and tons of games in the back corner, so it’s just as perfect for hanging out with friends or bringing the kids. I’ll definitely be back for lunch when I have more free time. Highly recommend this little spot if you’re in the area!"

"Saw that this place was around the corner with good reviews and went to check it out... So glad we did, we found a new favorite breakfast and coffee spot. I got the classic breakfast sandwich- the brioche elevated this classic sandwich and they had some signature pickles (asian inspired not dill) that were a really nice touch. My partner got the Korean Sammie and we were both really impressed- the umami, savory flavors were off the chain. I would definitely order either sandwich again Coffees were strong and delicious, perfect temp. Lots of flavor options. We loved that they had an array of board games and local art on the walls. The owner was super friendly"

"I like this place and I would/ could stop here every morning on my way to work…. Happy to support a smaller business. BUT there’s one reason I won’t. The coffee drink cups. First of all, I’d like to order a large size cappuccino drink. They don’t have the option to do that, there’s only one size cup. I don’t know if it’s 8 or 12 oz…. But it’s small. If I’m going to go out of my way to stop I’d want a large size. Second hatred of their cup…. It’s so small that when I put it in my car’s drink holder, there’s no way to get a grip on it from the middle side to pick it up. So I pick it up from the top, and the lid pops off. Try again, lid pop. Try even more delicately…. And maybe I can pick it up. Having to do that while I’m driving and praying I don’t spill this tiny drink….. is distracting to say the least. In short (hahaha) please offer taller cups and larger drinks. Then you’d see me several times a week. The drink is yummy and I’ve enjoyed your brioche breakfast sandwich before. The people that work there are friendly, it’s a nice environment …. I’d gladly spend money at your store."
