"Cozy, quiet small intimate setting. Host was polite, and explained things very well. The service was a bit slow that day, but the owner explained the staffing issue, but still not a ridiculous wait. We ordered Honey glazed salmon, with fried cabbage, and Mac n Cheese,. Fried whiting, with potato salad. We recieved the meal, but I recieved honey glazed chicken wings instead of the dried fish. Everything else was correct. The waitresses came to apologize, and told me to keep the wings, and the fish would be up soon. The owner brought the fish, apologized again, and said the wings are on me. Everything that we ordered was amazing, hot, and fresh! The wings were so amazing I paid for them anyway! Awesome African American owned Soul food place! Would definitely visit again."

"Wanted something other than Thanksgiving food for dinner and came across a TikTok reel for this spot. I realized I only lived 10mins away, so I decided to try it out. Walking in, the aesthetics were really nice. The folk were nice. There was a nice size party dining to the side and two other tables occupied. After a few minutes, I was able to place my order. I ordered Honey Glazed Salmon with Mac & Cheese and Sweet Potato Casserole and added Crab Imperial, Rasta Pasta with Shrimp, Honey Jerk Chicken with Fried Cabbage and Potato Salad, Salmon Bites, Crab Egg Rolls, and Cornbread. I waited at a table in the dining room while my order was prepared and chatted with another guest who was visiting from out of town. She shared what she liked and didn’t like, but I’m a firm believer that food taste is subjective, especially since I was bringing this food home to one of the pickiest people I know. Once I got to my parents’ house and started taking pictures, my mom immediately claimed the Rasta Pasta (clearly forgetting we were supposed to be making sampler plates 🙄). The food looked and smelled amazing. First bite was the Crab Egg Roll, and listen… I was singing. These were the blueprint. 10/10, and I’ll definitely be back just for those. Next, I tried the Rasta Pasta. The shrimp and chicken were surprisingly moist and well-seasoned. My mom said it was too spicy — yet she didn’t stop eating it. I’d give it a 7/10. The Salmon Bites were another pleasant surprise. The salmon was moist, and the sauce drizzled on top really pushed it over the edge. 9/10. The Honey Jerk Wings were fire — no notes. 10/10. The Cornbread was basically cake, and for $2 you get a pretty big piece. Easily a 10/10. Lastly, I tried the Honey Glazed Salmon with Crab Imperial. My dad loved it, but it just wasn’t for me. Even with the crab imperial, I’d give it a 5/10. Now let’s talk sides….the Mac & Cheese and Sweet Potato Casserole were stupid good. I didn’t care for the Potato Salad at all, and I can’t speak on the Fried Cabbage because I never received it. Honestly though, I didn’t miss it because they blessed me with two portions of both the mac & cheese and sweet potato casserole. Total wait time was about 1 hour and 7 minutes, but I did receive an extra Crab Egg Roll and an extra piece of Cornbread, which definitely helped soften the wait. Overall, I’ll definitely be returning… I’ll just be placing my order over the phone next time."

"I have not done a review in a while but felt compelled to leave one from our dining experience this evening. My wife and I had the BBQ jerk chicken, creole salmon with Mac and cheese, greens and rice and Peas. Everything was delicious. Atmosphere was great. Service was a little slow due to dinner rush but quality of our dinner counter balanced the time. We will return."

"I really hesitated with giving this review because I like to see small businesses prosper. But without criticism you can’t improve the quality of your business if you don’t know things are not right. I saw this place in a video on Tik tok and wanted to go, because I thought it was going to be a great experience, to my dismay it was not. I went in to ask about reserving a brunch for my daughter who was turning 16 I went in September. Left my information and was never contacted. I went back again in October and spoke directly to the owner about having my daughter’s brunch there again, she took my information and still was not contacted. I then went back November and talked to the owner again, she wrote down the menu items I wanted , the date (December) and my information again and she was supposed to call me with a price and get everything set up and once again she never contacted me. Because I wanted to love this place soooo bad I still took my daughter there and a small group of people. We were all very disappointed, it took approximately 1 hour to get our food which I wouldn’t have even cared about if the food was good. The shrimp and grits were very lumpy and the shrimp were very small for the the large portion size of the grits. The Mac and Cheese was full of oil and we couldn’t eat it. The jerk bbq chicken was basically slightly spiced bbq chicken, not jerk at all. The greens had no flavor or meat. The Rasta pasta had dry and seemed like old chicken in it. The Ice tea and Lemonade was overly sweet. I asked several times how much was the mimosas (champagne and orange juice) and the waitress or bartender did not know. Because I get mimosas all the time from different places I know there not usually that much so I just asked for a pitcher which usually runs $25 to $35 at the most, instead they bought out a tower of what looked and tasted like some sort of Sangria. I was highly disappointed because that’s not what I asked for and on top of that I asked them how much it cost and they had no idea. So I opted just to get a glass, and was finally told after I had already got the glass that it was $12 absolutely ridiculous. I wanted to love this place but I just can’t, and on top of that everyone got there meal and me the one paying never got my meal which was the lamb chops but after seeing the lamb chops my son got I was no longer interested. We will not be back, I really tried and was highly disappointed."

"3rd time eating here, first time was take out and last 2 times were dine in. I’ve personally tried the Rasta Pasta, Curry shrimp, crab egg rolls, salmon creole, Mac and cheese, collard and Sweet potatoes. Yea I’ve ate all that and loved it. The food didn’t even make it in the picture. I love the atmosphere, the service is perfectly fine to me, and the food always hits like thanksgiving. I’ve read some of the reviews on here and if you don’t want to RELAX, be left alone then don’t come here. Go somewhere uptight where they bother you every 30-45seconds. The canned soda and small cups are my only negative but everything else down to the music is always 🤌🏽 Give them more business so they can upgrade to fountain drinks and all the extra bougie shit yall expect."
