"How many times have you driven past this bakery and always thought it was "just a bakery" or had no idea what was in that 🤔 strip of stores before the train tracks on main st. ???? I know it's nearly everyday since they built that group of buildings. I am legitimately kicking myself for never stopping by to even check them out. Yet again Middletown has added to it's list of amazing local spots people need to know about!!! So very quickly I will explain finding it, dropped teen off at movies n i wanted to treat myself to a great coffee (or some variation) n a little pastry to go with. DD is obviously right there but coffee houses are my thing. I don't treat myself daily to them so when I do go to get coffee outside of my kitchen, I go for the gusto n also support local small businesses. Middletown hasn't ever had any kind of coffee spot other than big names but I figured just look n see as we have places popping up here left n right nowadays. Soooooo glad 😊 I looked!!! Sweet Melissa popped up but its pics on google showed me it wasn't just a local bakery. Which, hey no worries if it was but it wasn't what I was looking for atm n I always thought it was jus another small bakery. Boooooyyyy was I totally wrong and thank goodness the pics were there to peak my interest to click on it to look further and have me drive over. So pulling in and having so much parking is such a awesome added perk to this place. So many coffee spots have little to no parking and can really be a major deterrent. I know if I struggle to find quick easy parking I will most likely be hesitant to go back or choose somewhere else for quick convenience. Than you walk in and the staff were smiling and welcomed me and others walking in and offered assistance if we had questions. That not fake warm inviting feel is everything!!! Most ppl love chik fila just because of the customer service quality... it literally makes or breaks a business imo. But lets discuss the vibes and esthetics of this place!!! Just woooow!!!! It is decorated so beautifully but it's not a clutter chaos decorated. It is that clean bright inviting happy pretty look. Now most local small cafes and coffee shops nail the vibe check but too often it is cramped and just too small for the amount of business they do. There have been so many coffee shops I wanted to order in and really experience the whole vibe and feel but couldn't because there was absolutely no where to sit down and you could barely move to get your orders when they are done. Not here, not this place!! So it looks small when you initially walk in but it's actually quite spacious and they made an entire store sized seating area for their guests!! The sitting area has free wifi and the cutesy cottage comfy clean esthetics flow right into the seating area for patrons to relax and enjoy. Let's continue on about the actual coffee part. As I previously stated, I thought it was a bakery that now has some hot or cold coffee to have with your treats. WRONG!!! I was dead wrong AGAIN!!!! This place was a literal coffee lovers dream coffee house with countless options of coffee espresso lattees thaaaan they even had protein shakes and juices!!! Okay winnnn!! But lets now explain how this isn't the everyday bakery with the same cakes pies cookies n breads as most others do. They didn't just have a few unique items that set them apart, NO! THIS PLACE WOOOW'D me yet AGAIN!!! They had idk how many different cake pop flavors and their cake pops are NOT little. They had so many various mousse desert cups and than cups of deserts like tiramisu, and they were great sizes too!! Than they had macaroons of all flavors and cupcakes and specialty muffins. They had huge cake slices, I mean i don't know what they didn't have tbh lol 😆. They even had, my favorite canoli!! They even had a canoli latte!! I wish I could give more stars !!! This place is INCREDIBLE!!! I kno this was long but trust me read this and gooooo here!!!"

"If you’re looking for sweets there’s a good variety here! Cake pops are great! The coffee though is not to my taste. It’s very sweet with weak espresso flavor. Very festive and super cute spot!"

"Quiet clean place perfect for a cup of coffee with some good books. The staff is friendly a lot of varieties of cake bakery items the price is decent too. "As soon as I filled out the form on the Sweet Melissa website, Melissa followed up with me to clarify and send the invoice. Her reply came quickly and she was very lovely to interact with. When I arrived at the bakery the environment was absolutely beautiful and inviting. The customer service was phenomenal and bakery itself was very well done! As for the cake, it was everything and more! Not only was absolutely gorgeous, but it was also an amazing cake! Sweet Melissa is incredible bakery and I highly recommend it!"

"Such incredible customer service, very delicious and beautiful cake! I want to take time out and shout out the staff, they went above and beyond for me and I am so grateful! I walked into the store to pick up one of your pre made cakes last minute (I had pre ordered a a pull apart cupcake from acme and when I went to pick up the cake it was not even done yet: they messed up my order. So I drove up to Middletown from Smyrna) I narrated what happened and the staff who then told decorator and they went above and beyond with decorating the cake on theme too! I mentioned that it’s a strawberry themed party. Attached is a picture of how they turned things around for me. (I added the cake topper) When they brought out the cake I actually got teary eyed because this was literally 30 minutes before the party was supposed to start and it was perfect! Thank you so so much. For such wonderful service! I appreciate it! I was so so moved by that. Additionally the bathroom is very very clean and smells amazing in there too!! Very impressed with this establishment, the owner and the staff too!"
