"I was fortunate to visit Matt every morning on a recent trip to SGI from Birmingham, AL. I was less than impressed with the "on island" coffee options and was happy to make the 20 minute trip (one way) to Bayside Coffee Co. each morning. While I made this trip for the coffee, I realized it was much more than just the cup of small-batch roasted brew I received. Matt has a unique pride in not only the beans he personally roasts, but each and every person who comes into his shop. By the end of the week, I was getting "the usual" and having real conversations with Matt and other folks who frequent the shop. If you are ANYWHERE close to the "forgotten coast" and you enjoy coffee and/or people, stop by and see Matt! You will not be disappointed. On my way out of town, I got one last cup to go and a bag of his fresh reserve roast. This coffee has the best flavor and is both complex and simple (I know...but trust me). This will be my go to morning roast and the best thing is they ship! Makes up for not being able to stop in whenever I want!"
