"My wife and I had been to another Metro Diner in Florida. It was new, so when we saw this Diner, we wondered if Google Maps led us astray. NOT SO!! This is the ORIGINAL Metro Diner. What a treat!! The freshly prepared food was served HOT, was fast in coming out, the entire staff seemed to work together in one unit, and the vibe in the Diner was nothing but positive. The two meals shown in the photos were less than $13 each, and neither of us was able to finish what was brought to us. This was such an enjoyable breakfast/lunch that we will be including it on our “don’t miss” restaurants in Florida. (Amy is an excellent server!). See y’all in November!"

"I was visiting family in Jacksonville FL. I am from Virginia. My family suggested we go to this diner. She said the food was great! Our Server was Ebony and she was good considering the people she had to work with. The fans in the restaurant were so cold that my coffee got cold quickly. We were a party of 6 and all of us felt that it was to cool. I asked the server was it possible if they could cut off a couple of the fans. She asked the cooks and the white man on the cooks line said no, he'll no! The restaurant was not busy it was 2 p.m. Sunday, November 16th. The food began to come out about 30 minutes later. After waiting that long it was disappointing that only a couple of plates at a time came out. So 2 people were eating while 4 weren't. About 10 minutes later 2 more plates came. My friend who lives in Jacksonville, the birthday lady got very upset about the way the food was coming out separately instead of all together especially since it was 30 minutes before it even started coming out. Three of us were servers previously so we knew the food should not have come out like that especially after the 30 minute wait. So she got up and left the table and went and sat outside. She refused to come in and eat. The fans blowing hard made the food cold just like the coffee. It was a terrible experience. The manager on duty Evans was kind and very apologetic. He asked how could he fix the situation but there was no fix because we were cold, uncomfortable and the food was COLD due to the fans. We didn't have time to get it recooked we were about to get on the road back to VA.. The white guy on the cooks line needs to be fired because he made matters worse. The cussing was very unnecessary. I write a lot of reviews, good and bad. I have had over 85,000 views. I tell the truth!! I will never visit this restaurant again and I come to Florida often. It sucks because they had a strawberry butter that was delicious. I love chicken and waffles."

"We visited from out of town and found this place on Google search and we were very happy that we did. Haven’t been to a mom and Pop diner like this since we lived up north. Nice friendly and family style environment and the staff was amazing. A little tight on the inside for a large group, but they definitely made it work for us. Plus there’s outdoor seating as well and it’s on a nice quiet tree line street everything was amazing from beginning to end."
