"The team behind Rue Saint Marc has done it again with Saleya, their second San Marco venture, and I’m already planning my next visit. While intentionally more casual than its sister restaurant, Saleya proves that “casual” doesn’t mean compromising on quality — it means enjoying exceptional food and drinks in a beautiful, warm setting that immediately makes you feel at home. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. The décor strikes that perfect balance of sophisticated and inviting, with warm touches that make it feel both upscale and comfortable — exactly the vibe you want for a spot you’ll return to again and again. I visited during one of their first days open, and honestly, you’d never know it. The staff, as always with this restaurant group, is incredibly knowledgeable and represents the ownership beautifully. Their enthusiasm and expertise elevate the entire experience, making you feel well cared for without any stuffiness. The cocktail menu deserves special recognition for its creativity and diversity. The spritzes and Negronis in particular are standouts, thoughtfully crafted with interesting twists that showcase the bartenders’ skills while respecting the classics. Each drink is beautifully presented and expertly balanced. The real star though: the bread. Fresh, perfectly textured, and clearly made with care, it might just be the best bread I’ve had at any restaurant recently. It’s the kind of bread that makes you understand why people wax poetic about carbs. Each sandwich is thoughtfully constructed with premium ingredients that shine through in every bite. The sides aren’t afterthoughts either — they’re composed with the same level of care and creativity as the mains. You can taste the difference that top-notch ingredients and skilled preparation make. What excites me most about Saleya is that it fills a real need: a spot where you can grab a phenomenal casual meal without sacrificing the quality and sophistication you’d expect from this restaurant group. "This place is a gem in the middle of San Marco, exactly what we needed. We had the hummus and the pumpkin bisque as appetizers, both incredible. My partner had the "Bollito" with a side of chips. Rated a 12/10. I had the Athens, I swear that sandwich changed my life. 1000/10. The beer/wine/drink selection is not to be ignored. Grab a cocktail and have and incredible sandwich. There is SO much love put into this place, you will not be disappointed. 🫶🏻"
