from Google & Yelp"Small Cafe. Not good for large groups. I was told the schnitzel was only pork but when our friends ordered them it was def chicken. The food is not home made. Potatoe pancakes tasted like they were from a box. Nothing was very impressive. Glad we went but won't be back"
"Very disappointed. Have tried apple strudel at many places trying to compete with the Bavaria lattice style in Helen Ga, but as yet, no comparison. It was dry with a sponge bottom? And tasted not fresh with a solid pastry top and somewhat dried out apple inside. We also tried the Nutella croissant with very almost no filling, confirming our thoughts that the batches were not fresh. Coffee was nice and reasonably priced. Atmosphere was fine with most tables full. They also do standard pastry fare, and pizza (which didn't look good). Overall assessment is very Poor, would not visit again."
"A Hidden Gem of Warmth and Culinary Excellence Mama G’s German Café is a rare treasure — a peaceful haven run by radiant, gracious women who bring heart and heritage to everything they serve. I stopped in on a whim and left with half a dozen pastries and two impeccably seasoned sausages, each bite a tribute to Old World craftsmanship. The almond raspberry square, croissant pastries, in particular, are unforgettable — delicate, buttery, and bursting with balanced sweetness. It may very well be one of the finest pastries in the country. This café is a place to savor, to linger, and to I hear you fall in love with food all over again."
"Definitely worth the visit! Delicious menu; friendly and fast service; extremely reasonable prices for the quantity and quality. One of the few places you can get a latte and pastry for under $10 (as of 4/2025)! Bread loaves and pastries are delicious but full meals are also served. Has a neat, clean, and thoughtful atmosphere that really makes the most out of a small footprint. There are tables, a couch, children's play kitchen and toys and books inside. About 4 tables outdoors. If planning a gathering of more than 4 people on the weekend, highly recommend arriving early to secure seating because it gets busy quickly in the morning/brunch hours. Can comfortably accommodate 8 people if not busy. The Kenneth City park is right next to the restaurant though so if the weather is nice, you can easily take your to-go order to the park picnic tables or benches to enjoy. Areas for improvement: Latte art depends on the barista and is not standard. Would be nice if it was. However, taste just as good without the art! Improve sensible AC in summer time with either improving AC flow or getting better seals for windows/doors for insulation because it can get very warm in the summer. Accommodating ADA Needs: Pets are not permitted in the restaurant by law but service animals are welcome by law. NOTE: Staff are not allowed to ask if an accompanying animal is a service animal by law so please notify them as you come in that you have a service animal. Definitely ADA compliant. Be aware that if dining room is full and the order/to-go line is long, maneuvering through with a wheelchair could be tight. But staff would be willing to assist with making a space if needed. Bathroom is located in the back of the building (separate from main interior area) and requires a key from the establishment to use. Bathroom is small but clean."
"This German bakery is outstanding, capturing authentic flavors with every bite. The breads are hearty and perfectly baked. The matcha is phenomenal. Friendly service and cozy ambiance make it a true German gem."
"Wow!! I came for the German lunch and it was incredible. I had my first Jagerschnitzel a while back when I was in Switzerland and I fell in love! I have..."
