"Generally excellent restaurants with an array of styles dominate the Beaches town center. They include perennial stalwarts like flying iguana for modern Mexican. Mezze for Mediterranean food. Also Sliders, North Beach Fish camp, and relatively newer spots like Dora, The Local and Hawkers Asian street food and Coop 303. Of course for ice cream there's always Whits. They're also some cafés for visits earlier in the day, such as le Petit Paris and Southern Grounds. There are some small fashion boutiques and places to buy beachwear and an authentically nice locally owned bookstore"

You can park your car in the town center and walk directly to the ocean in less than a many. The white sand beach is clean, but be warned, there is no lifeguard on duty. Waves are usually small and the currents aren't too bad. All in all, an ideal spot for a local day trip getaway.
