"So I went to Book Burn by accident because I was going to Easy Luck. As it turned out I ended up looking at books and starting speaking with the bartender of Book Burn Raffi. The concept is really cool and they support local artist. If you're a beer drinker and like trying new flavors and taste you should check this place out. Raffi was really cool dude."

"I walked into one of my favorite spots—Whippoorwill, long shared in easy, natural harmony with the excellent Easy Luck—expecting familiarity and instead found something far more frustrating than closure. The place wasn’t gutted. It was overwritten. Whippoorwill was once a coherent, intentional space. Rather than build on that foundation, it’s been covered over with noise: mismatched choices, novelty clutter, and an aesthetic that feels disconnected from the bones beneath it. The original spirit hasn’t been removed; it’s been drowned out. That alone would be disappointing. What makes it unsettling is how directly this outcome contradicts what the new owners publicly claim to stand for. This space now markets itself as a sanctuary—community-forward, values-driven, rooted in inclusion and resistance to erasure. And yet taking over an already-established community space and disregarding the culture, story, and ecosystem that existed there is itself an act of erasure. Community isn’t created through branding or declarations. It’s built by listening—especially when you inherit something that was already serving people well. This isn’t opposition to change. It’s disappointment in how casually something deliberate was overwritten. There’s a difference between building a sanctuary and occupying one. What remains is a beautiful base, disrespected. You say you are someone who wants to create a safe space for marginalized communities, yet you decide to use a machine to make cheap art that has been trained on millions of stolen artist’s ideas. this same AI machine is drying up our water supply and polluting neighborhoods located near data centers. What about those marginalized communities? Do they not matter to you? As a new business owner with a very powerful mission and public image you are trying to upkeep, please do better by your community and make some changes around your place.
