"What happened at Made in Rome?! For eight years I've rated the gelato at Made in Rome a 12 out of 10. The flavor and texture rivaled any gelato both domestically and internationally! We were so disappointed with the gelato we had during our recent visit. We already knew the business had been sold, but we hoped the new owners would continue serving the same quality of product. Not even close. The rich dense creamy mouthfeel was replaced with a product having a much coarser texture, and the intense natural hazelnut flavor in my hazelnut gelato was a shadow of what it used to be. If the last mouthful tastes as good as the first, it's an indicator of a great natural project. But if a "flavoring type" aftertaste shows up halfway through, it's nowhere near the same enjoyment level or quality of product. If you are going to buy a business that is known for outstanding product and you keep the original name, you should keep the product the same. Otherwise, change the name, so that there are no preconceived expectations. It's only a 7 out 10 now, just like the gelateria in Venice and most others. A sad day for all of the past patrons of Made In Rome who enjoy amazing gelato!"
