What People Are Saying

"Heidi was an incredible server. It was our first time there and she gave us the history of the restaurant and hearing the story made set the tone for the entire experience. The food was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be back!"

"Just off the Riverwalk in Tampa, by the History Center, you'll find this outdoor venue. The food was unique and generally good, with a few overcooked bits. We had a Paella Casa Benigna, the Eggplant Riojana, and a special sampler, all delicious. The dessert churros came with tasty sauces. But no cafe cubana?!"

"Can’t say enough about the Columbian Cafe at the Tampa Bay History Center. Based on the original Columbian Resturant in Ybor City, this location has both inside and outside (with heaters in winter time). Bars in both areas happy to serve you while waiting for your table. Highly suggest getting the red or white Sangria and the 1905 Salad which is made table side. The Cuban is a must have while the Chicken Dishes are plenty full. Stop by the gift store."

★★★★★

"Great restaurant! The food is delicious, the service is impressive, and the atmosphere/environment is very comfortable and relaxing. I highly recommend the 1905 salad- it was delicious and I understand the hype. We dined in for dinner but also packed some food to go for family members who didn’t come with us. We were concerned about the food because one of our family members has a nut allergy. The manager herself came out to speak with us to assure us that the food was nut free and that we should not be worried. We greatly appreciated that reassurance!"

★★★★★

"Overall disappointing meal at this restaurant. The ambiance was nice and the sangria tasty, but the waitress seemed very disinterested and was almost rude. The “paella” came in a pool of oil and grease, the muscles had a weird consistency to them, and the plate just didn’t taste very good overall. Can’t speak for the other options on the menu but avoid the paella."
