"The Food: 2.9 ⭐️ I loved the vibe of this place, both on the inside and the outside. It's its own little world. I got the Tropical Wave Smoothie ($8-$9) and the Flank Steak Panini ($12-$13). The total came to $22-$23. The prices shown in the cafe are different from the prices online; they are higher in the cafe. The complimentary water was nice, and the cups were not your usual water cups, but I loved the uniqueness. The three workers I talked to were very kind, helpful, and complimenting. The smoothie tasted very natural, which I liked, and I loved the metal straw they gave me. It made drinking it so much fun! 🤩 (The ingredients: 🍓, 🍍, 🥭, 🍇, 🍑, 🍊 juice) The steak in the panini was really good; it was better than I expected! There was a sweet flavor to the panini that I didn't like, but that was on me to remove. I also wish the panini was more balanced and had some avocado, but again, I could've asked for that to be added. I now know for if there's a next time! (The ingredients: 🥩 grilled teriyaki steak, 🧅 onions, 🧀 muenster cheese, 🐴🫜 horseradish and 🫙🤍 RC sauce (cream cheese & ranch), toasted on 🥂🥖 French bread)"

"Liked: the coffee, the heated milk and cream, the homey environment, the flowers on table, the sentiment behind helping those who are unfortunate, good plugs for laptops, the service (friendly, fast) Just OK: the food. It's OK, not great. It's a small selection so gotta get there early or it sells out. Didn't like: 1. the heat - the air conditioning is not so good; it gets warm in there. I guess that's the Landlord's responsibility -- still. It's Florida, good air conditioning is a possibility. 2. Very talkative barista - just too loud and way too yappy - clearly overheard everything he said from his loud conversations about "killing pigs in Maui by stabbing them, I went to major in music etc" ... it was too much. Really. He needs some training as to what is appropriate and what isn't. Vegan stuff for sale -- then dude is stabbing pigs to death. Nice. Ok that barista seems to be gone... So they took care of that. Annoyed by: 1. the overhead music really sucks; it's GenZ 25 year old pap and everyone here is 40+. So try something else? 2. it closes at 2:30pm ... really? I will return but wish they would improve and make this place GREAT!"

"A cute little spot with some mixed vibes in service… Coffee is a cultural connection and has become a way of life within this. The best part of waking up… That said, and maybe it was just me being eager to try out a new coffee spot but walking into Rio Coco I was pretty excited… and maybe a pinch tired (but hey that’s what coffee is for right?). Upon walking in the shop has a low key vibe, some older regulars hanging out chit chatting in east coast accents. All’s calm and collected. I stumble along to find where I can see the menu and where I place my order. From this I realize I haven’t been greeted yet… I pay no more thoughts about it past that the 4 young ladies behind the counter seem busy ( heads down to the grindstone). I find a menu and start looking it over. Door opens and an older man walks up to my left, the main young lady behind the counter cheers out “Hey (so and so… insert generic names sake here)” followed by some back and forth interactions. All and all… and so this review doesn’t turn into a 150 page novella. The community here seems great from a regulars point of view, but I felt as if I was not getting that same experience in being a first time patron. Alongside service seemed to take a hot minute (all be it I did order a quad espresso) ,“Joja” which was pretty good. Perhaps a bit of interaction or banter could have set the scene a bit better and made the coffee that much sweeter. As the shirt for sale right in front of the service counter implied… “coffee is the drink of friendship”."

"I love the decor, the ambience, the quality of the food and drinks, and the fact that this is a Christian -based organization that supports a worthy cause. It is for this last reason that I feel this establishment should strive for the highest quality in all areas. I went for a cappuccino to be enjoyed in the establishment, and it was a busy Saturday with all tables filled. There was only one person making drinks and one person at the register. However, I was the only one in line with only one person with one drink already ordered ahead of me.I waited almost 20 minutes for my cappuccino, which I could’ve made in five minutes at home. Important to staff adequately and be prepared for emergencies. as a postscript, I didn’t notice until I was partway into my drink that I have been served in a cracked cup with a chip of glass out of the top of it that was very sharp. They did refund me, but I could’ve easily cut my lip and ingested a piece of glass. This is a constructive criticism with an urging and confidence that you can do better!"
