"Cute coffee shop/butcher shop with tasty coffee and breakfast sandwiches! We went on a cold day so i noticed the lack of indoor seating but i think it would be a nice place to go when the weather is warmer as they have lots of benches and seating out front. The coffee came out very quickly and the breakfast sandwiches from the butcher came out a few minutes after. It was about $43 for two small specialty coffees and two sandwiches which is a bit steep (the drinks were $7 a piece)."

"Adorable nook outfitted with a cafe, butcher shop and small fresh produce selection. Today we stopped for a quick coffee, just a flat white and an espresso. Their signatures have unique twists that I'd be interested in trying on my next visit. The flat white was lovely, though the espresso on it's own was a bit sour. It was a busy afternoon, service was good. I was surprised at the amount of barista's behind the bar---it appeared to be 4. (One register, one flex, 2 on the bar itself) The wait for drinks was about 10 minutes, which was about what I expected when walking into the hoard of others waiting for drinks and food as well."

"A buddy of mine had mentioned this place to me and as we are both big into coffee I had to give it a try . I've got to say I wasn't disappointed, I ordered a flat white which was extremely rich and creamy. An absolutely delicious drink. I had also ordered I am Salsa and this drink, this drink went so well not only with evening that was going on in the drink but it complimented the flat white perfectly. If I had not been given an address I might have overlooked it. I had walked passed it and had to do a double take to make sure I was at the right spot. Definitely want to try their lunch another day. Both drinks were amazing. Atmosphere seemed pleasant but being that it doubles as a butcher shop it kinda threw me off . However definitely stop on by and give them a try. The goal will be to go through the summer menu as it looks like they do special drinks for a season or through rotation."

"So amazing!! Their drinks are so delicious and they offer such brilliant and unique specialty drinks! My friend and I spent a joyful afternoon in VA-HI and we kept coming back for more from Academy Coffee! Two cute but small window seats inside this little place, and some outdoor seating is available too, but the specialty coffee and tea options make this a standout coffee stop. (Hint hint: grabbing coffee from Academy and then walking over to Virginia Highlands Books is the perfect combination.) The baristas were lovely here too!"
