"If you are in Virginia Highlands Akins park is a must-do dinner place and a VaHi staple! They have a bar side of the restaurant and then a seating area too! If you are stopping by for dinner I highly recommend the Chicken Penne Pasta; they have mastered the flavors within the pasta sauce (it has a little kick so beware). I also highly recommend the Stake Frites if you want a classic! Overall the restaurant has a very chill and local vibe and the service is always top tier! Definitely stop by if you are in VaHi and are looking for a slightly upscale but still classic dinner location!"

"Wanted a late night bite to eat. The bar area was PACKED with only 2 ppl seated in the back at a table. So I'll assume ppl are there more for the drinks than food. Seated ourselves. We're greeted in a few minutes. Waiter was cool, friendly and upbeat. Order burgers that came out fast, hot and on point! Overall good experience!"

"This is a great pub to stop in for some late night food. We really enjoy the chicken wings and quesadilla. Staff is friendly and courteous. My wife and I will often visit this venue later in the night after listening to some blues music down the street. The bar can be quite busy at this time (after 9pm), however the restaurant is usually pretty easy to get a seat. All in all, I'd definitely recommend this tavern."

"Very good food. Service was good even as busy as they were. They did a great job of keeping us informed on our food and drinks. I had the brussel sprouts and the french dip and love it. I had the Green Tea shot as a martini and it was very good."
