What People Are Saying
from Google"While the name Kinship Butcher and Sundry might not proclaim the promise of a decent cuppa, it does serve respectable coffee. Perhaps it’s the sundry that should be more focused on in this instance. The price is even competitive with its loftier rivals. A most unexpected triumph. The outdoor seating proves quite a delight, granting one the pleasure of observing the crisp fall air go about its business, entirely indifferent to human affairs. There is, without fail, a dog or two wandering about, each presenting itself as if auditioning for the role of “Most Pettable Creature in the County.” One perhaps oblige to that. Should one, find oneself in need of exorbitantly priced butchered meats, the establishment hosts such wares with operatic flair, though I remain steadfastly loyal to my coffee alone, focusing on Sundry instead of the Butcher part. The locale affords a most agreeable evening stroll through Virginia Highland at sunset. The streets glow with a warm, mellow light that suggests the world is briefly at peace. But of course, serenity is a fickle mistress. For as darkness gathers, so too does the impending doom of the bar scene. Middle-aged revelers and collegiate youths alike emerge from the shadows, converging with the enthusiasm of soldiers charging into battle, though with considerably worse aim. Their voices swell into a great, unrestrained roar, as though each believes himself the tragic hero of his own ale soaked soliloquy."
"Very unique coffee spot in VH and right next to farm burger. Coffee is fabulous and so are there meats, grocery items they carry. Cool vibe, so patio seating but not much inside."
"Great local find! Great vibes with an awesome staff that is knowledgeable and attentive! This local Butcher doubles as a Grocer, a Sommelier, and a Cheese Counter. I grabbed a coffee and a Grilled Cheese sandwich. Their grilled cheese is filled with Drunken Tomato jam, Clacks Chapel Cheddar and Thomasville Tomme Cheese on two slices of pullman bread. (Take a look at the included pictures) There was a substantial wait but the sandwich was rich and you can definitely taste the time and effort it takes to make these wonderful craft sandwiches."
"I go to Kinship weekly for a coffee and maybe a thing here or there. Everything is always beyond what I hope for. Their bone broth which I believe is made from multi animal bones is unctuous and hearty without being greasy. Recently they have schmaltz which is rendered chicken fat used traditionally (to my knowledge) in both chopped liver and matzoh balls. I made my first batch of matzoh balls with schmaltz today just before the Jewish new year and I must say they are delicious and smooth and they will nurture my family as we celebrate the new year. Thank you Kinship!"
"2024.10.19 Hi, I am a Kong’s dad🐶 I tried Double with Bacon and sausage. I definitely recommend double. Bun was very soft and the sausage was juicy. For drink, I ordered cold brew and flat white. Coffee was also good with burgers. One important thing, Please, try to get to the shop before 09:00am or you can find the long queue line🥺 I am going to Kinship today again to try grilled cheese😂 2024.10.20 Hi again, I tried Grilled cheese and Garter belt today. It was really awesome!! Price is not cheap but it’s worth it!"
