What People Are Saying
from Google"Very cool shop, nice service, and solid coffee, but highly limited seating. Books are a nice touch and some fun kid ones! Overall enjoyed the vibe but there are probably only 3 sitting areas and ~9 chairs total, so very limited. The staff was joyful, helpful, and patient - they seemed like they were having a good time! The coffee was pretty good but not house made syrups and the micro-foam could use some work (see pics), though the sea horse art was fun! Also got a pastry which was pretty average, but appreciated that they offered to heat it up. Would go back!"
"Stopped by **Read Shop by The Merchant** around 4 PM for a late afternoon coffee. The atmosphere was lovely — warm lighting, quiet music, and that perfect cozy bookshop vibe. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and my coffee was excellent. The only disappointment was that there were **no bakery or pastry items left** by the time I arrived. It would’ve been nice to have a small snack with my drink. Still, it’s a beautiful spot to relax, browse a few books, and unwind for a bit. I’ll definitely come back earlier in the day, next time!"
"I have been all around the world, but this manages to be my favorite coffee shop out of all of them. Their coffee is some of the best. Period. Clearly very freshly roasted and high quality beans, they apparently tune their espresso machines daily to get the taste just right. And you can taste that, the effort and passion they pour into their craft. Each employee I’ve spoken to has been clearly knowledgeable and extremely dedicated. The atmosphere and service is always on point. It’s a wonderful place to sit and chill, and the staff are always kind and accommodating. My favorite coffee shop. Hands down."
"The coffee had a slightly sour aftertaste. The coffee beans probably didn’t have the right grind. That’s very disappointing since I expect great coffee when I visit an independent coffee shop. Also, the food options were very limited. It’s not really a bookstore, but rather a coffee shop with a few books. It would probably work better if it were a “library” where people could share books. I wouldn’t feel comfortable flipping through the pages of one of the books while sipping a cup of coffee."
"Ain’t too much reading to be done, its only large sized coffee table photography books. it’s not loud enough to not feel like your conversation won’t be heard; it will. That being said, gingerbread latte and hot chocolate were spot on delicious and my wife and I are happy we have a close cafe that is more than exceptional."
