What People Are Saying
from Google"Wanted to try something different today and ended here at 'Sister'. Cute little spot with a patio on the bottom portion of hotel Colee. Initially I wanted breakfast but arrived at 11am just as breakfast was being switched over. No worries, that's on me. We were greeted upon entry and Ariel, our waitress, informed us to sit wherever we'd like. She brought menus with water right away. I ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich: the chicken was okay, the breading held all the flavor and was deliciously crunchy served on a brioche bun, the French fries were the perfect crispy. Chris ordered the short rib sandwich: the sourdough bread was buttery and toasted, the meat was was tender and juicy and matched perfect with the caramelized onions, alittle aus jus would set it off just right. Ariel was very pleasant and checked on us accordingly. She also informed us that they have a breakfast buffet from 7am-11am. Definitely will be back to try."
"I have stayed at this Hotel before but the restaurant is the true gem. I had an incredile crusted chicken meal last night. It was so good I ordered a 2nd plate. They asked me for my thoughts and I told them my thoughts. For my 2nd plate they added my suggestions. The chef, the manager and the waiter all came to talk to me about my thoughts. Only 1 other place in my 53 years on this planet have I experienced that type of service and appreciation. Chef Lovell, Manager Darius and London are the most amazing staff."
"Incredibly rude staff at the restaurant. While the staff at the hotel reception desk, valets, etc. were helpful and kind, the staff at the Sister restaurant were an unfortunate exception. Our group went there with our kids (ages 4, 3, 2, 1) and we were the only guests there. The whole place was empty. Regardless, the bartender immediately seemed disturbed by our presence, telling us the kids “can’t dance” or stand in the aisles, and they “can’t go up the stairs in the restaurant” or stand near the entrance, even though we were with the kids the whole time and the kids were not loud or doing anything dangerous. A few minutes later, an old security guard showed up and said that he had been watching us on camera (hello, Big Brother), and asked us not to let the kids run up the stairs because they are made of glass and steel. I told him that if something happened it would be on my watch, so they wouldn’t have any liability. He agreed and left. Ten minutes later and after we had ordered our dinner (to the same disgruntled and visibly annoyed bartender / server), my wife was walking with one of the kids who wanted to see what was making the noises coming out of the kitchen (they were not INSIDE the kitchen). The bartender told my wife in a rude way that she “CANNOT CROSS THE LINE TO THE KITCHEN” although neither my wife nor the kid did. We told them to pack up our order to go since we didn’t feel welcome in this space. As we were leaving, one of our kids was by the restrooms area. The same old security guard reappeared and told me that our kid should not go to into the women’s bathroom. I said he’s not going in there, and he’s only three anyway, and if he goes, his mom would take him in there. His response was “his mom would be watching him if she was around,” which I said was uncalled for since his mom was watching the other kids, plus the kids weren’t making any trouble, and he shouldn’t be telling us how to take care of our kids, and also that my kid is autistic, so his behaviors can be unpredictable and odd. The old man then told me that maybe my kid is autistic because I am autistic!! Wow. I pulled my phone out and started filming the conversation with him; asking him to repeat what he said. He denied what he said and claimed that I should not be telling him how to do his job (I hadn’t said anything related to his job). He proceeded to say that he doesn’t work for the hotel, and that he was contracted to do this job. I don’t know what he was doing there then! The food wasn’t good at all, by the way. Just look at that miserable thing they have the audacity to serve as a chicken sandwich. We only went there because we thought the environment would be OK for the kids, since it was empty, especially our autistic kid, but we were wrong. It really soured our entire experience here and made us feel unwelcome."
"Everything here was amazing! The atmosphere was cool and chic and the servers were attentive and helpful when it came to ordering and suggestions. Elliot served us breakfast and was knowledgeable and friendly. Will made sure my coffee cup was never empty, which is a huge deal for me, and was ready to assist if I needed anything. I loved every moment of my experience."
"It started off nicely, but quickly went down hill. I will say that the service was good, but that’s about it. The food is DISGUSTING. I don’t know who they have in the kitchen, but the recipes seem like someone got high. I ordered the cheddar waffle with country ham and sausage gravy. In no way was I served country ham, but rather 6 pounds of mediocre lunch meat. I thought it was a joke. The flavors were terrible and there was absolutely zero hint of cheddar. It was the oddest meal I’ve ever been served. I left it all on the plate and the waiter didn’t even ask if everything was ok when he cleared. $18 down the drain. Do not waste your time here. It is a hotel restaurant that relies on the fact the most people aren’t coming back anyway, so why even try to make the food decent?"
