from Google & Yelp"Star Bar is one of those places I hope exist forever! The vibes are immaculate upstairs & down. The events the crew put on & the hired acts themselves are irreplaceable in the hearts of Atlantans. We’re grateful for the experiences we’ve had here & the friends we’ve made & the art we’ve immensely enjoyed. Sundays markets are a must & make sure you go downstairs so Aries can make you a delicious something! There might even be tacos if you come on the right day 😉"
"Edit: appreciate the quick response from the owner. I’ve updated this review to remove the one star for food because we did not eat food. Came last Saturday at 12:45 (well within the business’ posted hours on Google Maps) and the person at the door adamantly said to get out without providing any explanation. We asked if we could talk to our friends who had got there 5mins before us and who were sitting at the bar 10ft away to let them know we were going to walk across the street to the Vortex. The bouncer said no then picked up my wife and threw her through the front door. The bouncer was a short, squat man with a bald head and a very thin Mohawk pony tail situation. Hope that helps identify him. I’ve never had an experience like this."
"If you are looking for the best rock n' roll dive in Atlanta, look no further than Star Community Bar. This place has it all, complete with awesome bands, cool staff, pinball machines, a photo booth, and an Elvis Vault. What is the Elvis Vault, you may ask? It is a vault in the corner (cuz they used to be a bank like a zillion years ago) filled with authentic memorabilia that belonged to The King!!!!! Check this place out! You will not regret it!!!!"
"Killer dive bar featuring the best local rock and country bands and national acts. Be sure to check out the Elvis vault when you are there!"
"Gays, punks, older folks, 90s hip hop lovers — all are welcome on the Star Bar dance floor! A true “Come as you are” style bar with Photo Booth and cheap drinks, you can dance like no one is watching on Tuesday nights 10pm onward (midnight and there were 20+ people on the dance floor). Plus, it’s clean and the bathrooms are wheelchair accessible ✅♿️ 💰There is a shrine to Elvis hidden the “grace vault” plus $4 beer specials and $9 Jack & Cokes, $7 Jagger shots, or $9 espresso vodka shots. 🏧 machine inside next to entrance. To find the “little vinyl bar” (a second bar with very different vibe to the main bar) either enter next to DJ stage in the main bar or, if it’s locked, go outside and down the hill into the parking lot. There are 6 outdoor tables with softly playing music, plus an inside mini bar with wheelchair accessible bathroom and pinball machines!"
