from Google & Yelp"This place is an absolute gem! Located inside an old sock mill and there's an old belt driven fan system in the ceiling that alone is worth the price of visiting! The menu is very simple, soup and sandwiches with chips or potato salad and a pickle. The soups are homemade and seems the vary by day. Lots of different bread and meat options for various sandwiches. Served hot or cold. The prices are really what make this place so unbelievable. We had a large group, seven to be exact. With tip, we were out the door for less than $70. $6 sandwiches and $4 for a bowl of soup? In 2025 that's unheard of. And the owner and staff are so lovely and warm! It's a bit off the beaten path and if you didn't know it was there, you'd drive right by it. Do yourself a favor and have lunch there. I know we will when we are in the area again!"
"This restaurant is a quaint slice of life bringing you back to childhood picnics. The sandwiches and wraps served here are made from quality ingredients. I left a 4* review for the food only because of the kindergarten size portion of potato salad (and other sides they offer being the same size) and the tea tasting of strong tap water rather than filtered water (both appeared to be made well otherwise). Staff was very helpful and it's always nice to experience a new place and this is convenient to try if you happen to be near the hospital"
"Had a fantastic first visit! I had scoured menus today looking for a good reuben /corned beef and Daily Bread Cafe delivered! Hubby had the polish sausage and it was equally delicious. Tonya (i think that was her name 😬) was great about asking all of the specifics of how we and everyone else ordering specifically wanted the sandwiches. Which I love because I am a bit picky! 😂 I have been on the hunt for a good sandwich place (I always say they are my favorite food!) and this looks like our new spot! Will 💯% be back!"
"I used to go to the old location of this place, when it was called the Lunch Basket by WellStar Hospital. Today, my husband and I went to the new location because they had such great sandwiches and customer service in the past. I had already had a bad morning and so was looking forward to getting something to eat thinking it would be a pleasant experience. Was I wrong! I was trying to tell the owner how this was my first time coming there to the new location and while I was talking to her she totally ignored me behind the Plexiglas. Then when I was trying to order my sandwich, this was met with hostility. I don't know if she was in a bad mood or just couldn't hear me. She didn't seem to understand I wanted the sourdough bread and at some point had it in her hand and I was like, "Yes, what you have in your hand". When she asked if it was to go like twice, I couldn't help but say "Yes, away from here" though I don't know if she heard me. It was also stuffy and hot in there. I have never been treated like this at a sandwich place which used to be so nice to go to nor treated this way anywhere else. This is not acceptable customer service. I will never return again."
"I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location. I’ve given it several tries on different days and times, hoping for a better experience, but I keep walking away with the same impression: they’re consistently understaffed even during their limited hours and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like the staff is friendlier to their regulars than to new or occasional customers. Every time I’ve ordered or picked up food, there’s this unspoken vibe that I’m inconveniencing them, despite being a paying customer. I’ve never once felt welcomed or appreciated more like they want my money but also want me gone as quickly as possible. The sandwiches are decent, but at the end of the day, I’d rather support a place that actually values its customers. At first, I thought maybe it was just me, but after talking with others, I’ve heard similar stories. Apparently, that’s just the atmosphere here but that still doesn’t make it okay. I should add today, they handed me my to go order in what was clearly someone's used Kroger grocery bag like the kind you keep under the sink at home. I half expected to find a receipt and some loose coupons in there. See Picture."
