What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Always wanted to try this place and stopped by to pick up desserts - Creme Brûlée, Red Velvet and Tiramisu. Creme Brûlée was decent, Red Velvet was sub par, but the highlight was the Tiramisu. When I say I love desserts, I love desserts from all parts of the world and don't waste dessert - from subpar to those with exquisite quality and taste. Look what I did with this one - in the dumpster. I really tried - forced myself to have couple of spoons of it to prove myself wrong, but the Tiramisu tasted like it had been sitting in their shelf for 6+ months, and was hard. Every time we used to be in Marietta Square, we always wanted to try this place. Then we tried, rest will be the only history that will be made here :(."
"I'm glad that I had a chance to finally b Pay this shop a visit. I went a few weeks ago and was able to get a seat at the front window. It was nice to be able to watch all the action on the square (aka people watching - lol). The service was merely ok. I would come back potentially for the pastries, but not the food. I ordered a veggie quiche because a quiche is one of the greatest breakfast/ brunch foods around. It was horrible. It was like an unseasoned spinach pie, but without the eggs. I tried to send it back and just replace it with scrambled eggs with cheese. For a simple side of eggs... that set me back $7.50!!!. Just for an order of eggs! I won't be back for food... but would be willing to try the pastries."
"My wife and kids came here for lunch after church on Easter (He is Risen!). Our server was friendly and checked on us throughout the meal. My wife and youngest both ordered the the Smoked Salmon Benedict with the fruit side. I got the Quiche Lorraine with Tomato Bisque, and my son got the Chocolate Banana Crepe. The Soup was very creamy, definitely a good side for the quiche. The quiche itself was good but not great; I couldn’t put my finger on what was missing, though; perhaps not enough onion. I tried a but if my wife’s Salmon Benedict, but it tasted a bit too fishy to me. My son and daughter had no complaints about the Caramel Macchiato they ordered, nor the Chocolate Banana Crepe- all the food was gone by the end of the meal. (I guess the portions could have been a bit bigger…) Sugar Cakes is located on the north side of the Marietta Square. As always, parking is completely dependent on what else is happening at the Square. Two Smoked Salmon Benedicts, one Quiche Lorraine with Tomato Bisque soup, one Chocolate Banana Crepe, two small Caramel Macchiato, $78.88 before tip."
"I love this charming cafe! It's a beautiful place with wonderful pastries and food. I walked into this Patisserie over 18 years ago, and I never forgotten about it. They serve breakfast and lunch. "Sugar cakes" has been a main stay in the Marietta square for years. It has blessed the community tremendously. We need more "Sugar cakes" around Georgia and the country. Thank you for still being here giving and serving everyone! It brings joy to our hearts and bellies. Truly. I love this place."
"Today was my first time at Sugar Cakes and it was a good first experience. It was nice and clean. I order the chicken salad sandwich with fries and Cesar salad. I also had a peach almond croissant. The Cesar salad was good but over dressed and took away from the crisp romaine. I would ask for the dressing on the side next time. The sandwich was delicious. The grapes really gave the chicken salad a burst of flavor. I loved that it was on a croissant. The fries were also good and they had the perfect amount of salt on them. The peach and almond croissant was good. I loved the glaze in the croissant. I will definitely be back."
"Sugar Cakes Patisserie has become a regular breakfast spot for us. The ambiance of the establishment is very calm and relaxing and the food is good. Only..."
