What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Love Jittery Joe’s for coffee (medium roast) and a serene place to work. The baristas always greet with a smile and have my coffee ready before I even order. A big plus is stepping into Righton Books for a break, browse & book fix. Highly recommend for coffee, ambiance and service! An enthusiastic 5 ✨☕️"
"Super cute coffee/matcha spot! We ordered several drinks from chai, to matcha, to coffee, and everyone loved their choices! The cafe is joined to a bookstore! Genius! And the cafe is decorated with posters from classic readings. Everything was very clean and the lady who helped us was extremely friendly! When we visited the island again we are definitely coming back!"
"Loving the cozy renovation. New owners are longtime locals who are investing in the place and the community. Baristas are great. Scrolling through the reviews, the only negative reviews seem to be from a while back about one Barista who no longer works there."
"The girls working there are extremely nice, hospitable, and deserve 20 stars if possible! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they only brew the same two types of coffee every single day, and its not possible to sample any other of the multiple coffees they sell by the pound before buying, so its a roll of the dice. And since they cost over 20 bucks, its nice to know what you are buying. Thats not by choice of the staff. I do love the artistic designs on the coffee cans."
"I moved to the area a month ago and I love coffee shops. The options around here are abysmal. I like to sit and write on Sunday afternoons. I thought I had finally found a place. The coffee is okay, the ambiance is a bit like I'd expect a coffee shop inside a gas station to be but what really turned me off and made me leave without tipping (maybe only the 2nd or 3rd time I've ever done that in my life) was when the barista was bragging to the only other customer in the shop about stealing. She was talking about wanting some new sunglasses and said she'd probably just steal some from Target. She told him she likes to steal from "corporate stores" and even if she has the money she'll still steal little things just to do it. It's funny. I've fought for human rights and social justice my whole life. I used to boycott left and right but then after traveling the world for the past decade and seeing true poverty and true need in the world I've become more careful about picking my battles. I've lived in the world's 16th poorest nation, I've volunteered helping war refugees, the list goes on and on. I've learned you just can't fight all the fights. There's too much wrong with the world. But you know a fight I am willing to fight? I won't support a business whose employee openly brags about stealing. Simple lesson in economics: theft makes stores raise their prices. You may think you're being cute and really "sticking it to the man" but what you're really doing is raising prices for the rest of us. I worked in food service for years and I owned my own coffee shop for five years. For me, ME, to not tip it has to be serious. The other day a server in a restaurant brought me the wrong meal and when I politely asked for the correct meal he rolled his eyes at me and I still tipped him. Plus, there are some things you just shouldn't talk about in public because you never know who might be listening. Bragging about stealing is one of those things. Jittery Joe's is now off my list of places to hang out on Sunday afternoons."
"Very friendly staff, solid coffee and nice atmosphere! It's connected to a bookstore which is a nice touch."
