"While the atmosphere was great, I was let down by the fact that they only offered drinks in plastic or paper cups. It took away from the cozy experience I was hoping for, especially considering the prices they were charging."

"Got an $8 strawberry croissant, some tea, coffee and a prosciutto croissant. The whipped cream filling in the strawberry croissant was sour which was evident on the first taste and confirmed by my wife. We are not foreign to what real whipped cream is supposed to taste like. Went back to exchange for another croissant flavour which ended up being less money and am told by one of the nice staffers that they don't know how to do refunds and that they will bring my concern to the bakers at the back. Eventually another staffer comes and starts working on the the refund - which takes about 3 minutes for some reason. Meanwhile my new chocolate croissant that the first employee put in the toaster oven is now burning, so I ask him to take it out to avoid another disappointment and he proceeds to tell me how he brought my original croissant back to the so-called bakers and had them taste it to confirm if I was being truthful about the sour whipped cream - which according to him, I was not. I told him I didn't care what they thought because it was not good at all, to which he replied "well, they are bakers and they know more than you". I then asked for a full refund and he handed me a slip of paper that showed a refund of some random items from my original bill although there was no transaction number, so hopefully it actually goes back on my credit card. It's amazing to spend $1,000/night on a hotel room and be subjected to treatment like that from a kid at a lobby coffee shop. It's too bad this experience stained my view of the Alohilani Resort after what was otherwise a lovely 4-night stay."
