"After a delayed flight and no food for 8 hours, we finally landed in Kona and found Herbivores after searching for a vegan restaurant. Truly some of the best vegan food l've ever had!!! We ordered the big moke burger, macvegan breakfast sandwich, carne asada tacos, and the wings and everything was delicious! Jeff the chef even came out to check on us and make sure we liked everything. The wings were definitely one of my favorite things! Who knew you could make vegan bone in wings with sugarcane??? Amazing!!!! We also got strawberry lemonades and the mint hibiscus tea which was so refreshing! The menu is huge and there's so many options, so we will definitely be back before our flight home to try more things (hello oat milk soft serve!!)"

"Herbivores was AMAZING! I got the taro rice bowl, the nachos and smoothies. OMG it was all amazing. In person they also have oat based soft serve too. So good! Hands down a great place for a quick allergy friendly meal. They were really nice and willing to answer all questions about gluten free options too!"

"Herbivores feeds me twice a week after a long day at work. Everything I have ever gotten here has been absolutely delicious and at great value. I am a particular eater; vegan, gluten free, soy free - and Herbivores always leaves me more than satisfied. Ivan, who is there every single day, puts so much love and attention into details. He is incredibly talented and I feel very blessed to have him prepare my food. Pro tip! Order online if you are in a hurry. I order right after I finish with work and by the time I arrive my food is ready to go! The jackfruit nachos are my go to, but I also adore the love the sea chickpea salad and the smoothies. Love this place, such a gem. I appreciate how creative they are with food and the affordability. Maybe they will open a Hilo location one day ;) Thanks Herbivores!!"

"Pretty disappointing experience, probably the worst vegan place I’ve been to in Hawaii. The menu is mostly vegan junk food with very little care put into the preparation. We ordered two Mush Lovers burgers. The bread tasted like it had just been unfrozen, the burger and bacon were barely cooked and the cheese wasn’t even melted. I also noticed the staff seemed quite clueless when I asked for one taro patty and one pono patty even though the menu clearly states you can choose the type of patty. In the end we paid $50 for two poorly prepared burgers, potato chips (not even fries) and one kombucha. It honestly felt like a rip-off."
