What People Are Saying
from Google"Come here immediately after hiking for the biggest sandwich you can fathom. Extremely well made, family owned, and a relaxing outdoor dining experience. We got there late so there weren’t too many bread choices, but it didn’t matter. If you like a nice lunch sandwiches and a cold drink, this should be your stop after visiting the park."
"Not too many spots open early or have vegetarian options. At least here we were able to get a decent veggie sandwich and hot cocoa for breakfast and portion size was generous too. Our feedback is that it would be great if they could add a toasted sandwich option and an espresso machine but whatever we tried was decent enough ."
"Eagle's Lighthouse Cafe is such a special spot! There's something really unique about it. The setting is beautiful and the outdoor seating is so charming and relaxing. The coffee was great and I'm already excited about all the variety on the menu to explore on my next visit. I got the breakfast bowl and wow, the portion was super generous! I also couldn't stop eyeing their pastries. They looked amazing and I'm definitely trying one next time. The cafe was busy the whole time I was there with a constant flow of people coming in and out, which just shows how popular it is. Can't wait to go back soon!"
"This place would be four stars elsewhere, but on Hawaii near Volcanoes National Park it’s a clear five because this is an expensive touristy area with service that is sometimes rushed and impersonal. The young 5’1ish woman behind the counter was exceptionally friendly and kind. The ambiance is casual with outdoor seating under an awning and world maps where you can pin your home location. The food is an excellent value for the area, with generously packed fresh-ingredient sandwiches that are hard to find at this price. The veggies were delicious and high quality, making the fresh veggie sandwich both filling and impressive. The young woman who served me was wonderfully helpful despite the long line, and I hope she’s recognized for being such a great employee."
"We stayed in Volcano for two nights while on the Big Island and the first place we ate at was Eagle’s Lighthouse Cafe. Came at around 9 AM on a Friday and they weren’t busy. The ordering area is very small and only suits a few people so be warned. They do however have a decent amount of tables outside. The lady who took our order was nice. I got the Breakfast Croissant with bacon and also got a Cinnamon roll to try out. Overall, everything was great! The sandwich was hot and fresh, and the cinnamon roll was super tasty. Overall, if you’re in the village of Volcano getting hungry for a quick bite, this place will suit you well! I’ll be back."
