What People Are Saying
from Google"This coffee shop is one of the rare GOOD study-friendly spots near campus. It’s clearly designed with students in mind, which is refreshing and much appreciated. The coffee is great and my order is always correct. However, reliability has been a recurring issue. The shop has closed early without notice several times, about 75% of the times I’ve visited, which makes it difficult to plan study sessions. One time the barista closed early because they had to open the shop early the next morning. As a former barista myself, this is very unprofessional. Service can also be slow since there’s usually only one barista working, leading to 15–20 minute waits for drinks during busy hours. Additionally, most of the food is reheated in a microwave, which is a bit disappointing. The food is another area that could improve. Most items are reheated in a microwave, which is disappointing when you’re paying upwards of $7 for a bagel or small pastry. If I’m spending that much, I expect the quality to at least match what I’d get at a chain like Starbucks or Dunkin’—if not exceed it, given the small-business feel and attention to detail this cafe aims for. Baristas also typically sit in the back corner on their phones when business is slow. One barista was unprofessional and hosted their own ISU student-org meeting at the cafe during business hours, while they were working, and was somewhat loud and distracting to customers."
"Great place to go and study. I love it so much I will do the 15 minunte walk from my dorm in the cold just for the atmosphere coffee. 100% recomend if you want a nice coffee shop to study. If you need recomendations on what to try get the Strawberry Matcha."
"Exceptional value on the lattes. They are $5, which is already a good deal for the generous serving that you get, but you can also choose one of several different syrups and flavorings that would normally be a dollar or more extra at most coffee shops. I got the cookie butter latte, which was delicious. For solid food, they have a small selection of breakfast items such as croissants and muffins. I saw what appeared to be crepes on a sign outside, but I could not find them on the menu. The barista and other staff were efficient and very friendly. The sitting area was well-furnished and comfortable. There were several tables for individuals and small groups, a sectional couch, and a table for large groups. The overall vibe was cozy with few distractions and I was able to get a lot of studying done. It seemed that they were still putting together a final few touches, but overall the store was very prepared and put together considering that they hadn't been there at the beginning of break."
"Absolutely love coming here. Despite being next to campus, it is fairly quiet and rarely packed. They have an assortment of foods, including mini pancakes, muffins, scones, lemon bars, granola bars, fruit salads, and danishes! They also of course have coffee, teas energy drinks (housemade), and delicious berry sippers (I'd highly recommend the berrylicious sipper!) The seating is great as well with comfortable sitting booths, swivel barstool chairs with great back support, and meeting desks. The staff is extremely polite and kind as well. It creates a chill atmosphere. They have music playing in the background thats not to loud or quiet and is usually pop, instrumental, or lofi. Overall, amazing gem found for work and studying."
"I had heard great reviews of this place but my experience was anything but great which was sad because the coffee was really good. My friend and I came in to study but left after 10 minutes. My friend took one drink of her protein shake before the barista with green hair (we didn’t catch her name) came over and yelled at her. We had no idea that you couldn’t bring that in and instead of being told kindly she chose to be completely unprofessional. I’ve never seen anyone be so immature and disrespectful."
