from Google"Such a cute coffee shop! Never been to clear lake before but I will definitely be back. They have a variety of syrup flavors and also specialty flavors depending on the season. They had a few pastry items and some different bagel options. Their decor was so welcoming and cute. They had a small room in the back for kids and families. The girls working were nice and patient. The coffee shop is located right downtown near other small businesses."
"We're in town visiting my in-laws and found this while seeking locally-owned coffee shops. Livonia's is situated on the main strip in Clear Lake's "downtown". The shop was easy to find. Upon entry, I noticed the high ceilings and ample seating. The space was aesthetically-pleasing and the staff was very welcoming. I got a latté flight, and my hubby got his usual cold brew. I'm not sure if they make their own cold brew, or not, as it came out of a tap from a Stok appliance. Either way, he did not like it and ended up leaving the full drink in the discard tray. My latté flight was $22, which is 1.5x the price as other shops that serve the equivalent in Iowa (Blue Bean in Ankeny and Coffee House Café in Davenport. I don't have a problem paying good money for good products. The four mini-lattés were lackluster. They were all a lot pretty than they tasted. The lattés were all garnished differently but all tasted the same so I dumped them all into the same to-go cup when we were leaving. All of the syrups sank to the bottom of the glasses. I would probably mix the flavoring into the coffee before pouring into garnished glasses for better execution. I'd be eager to try one of their cortados next time. That's the real test for me."
"I want to like this place so bad but I just can’t. Every time I come in, I’m never greeted, just stared at like I have something on my forehead. I have to say the first word at the counter, it’s so awkward. The gentleman who eventually did serve me was very kind though. I hate the iced chai latte. (I’ve tried it twice now) I’m not a coffee drinker and this is one of just a few non-coffee offerings. Chai is my go-to order. It tastes like watered down cinnamon milk. The cinnamon floating around is so obtrusive and literally burns my mouth, but not in a pleasant, spicy tea way. Lastly, the children’s play area is a welcome feature for downtown. HOWEVER, if you’re going to offer it, please keep it clean. My baby had gray knees and backside from crawling around and sitting on the rug/floor in the children’s play area."
"The decor and location are 10/10! The coffee is very good, too. The specialty drinks are a bit on the sweet side but they’re very good and true to description on the menu. Such a great addition all around to this lovely downtown area. Definitely coming back!"
"Very fun up and coming coffee shop! Our 2yr old had a great time playing in the kids room while we enjoyed our coffee. We really enjoyed the fun specialty flavors. My coffee could have been a little hotter, but it's totally understandable for them to still be getting into their groove. We will be returning the next time we visit CL!"
