from Google"Came for breakfast, the food and coffee were DELICIOUS! We had pumpkin spice lattes, chocolate chip pancakes, and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was great and the food came out in a timely manner. I was surprised by some of the not so great reviews because we were pleasantly surprised by the drinks, food, and service."
"Nice looking place. The food was dine but nothing I would say is special at all. The big disappointment was the service. No one greeted guests and folks stood for 5-10 min to get a set just because no one would greet them to sit them down. The staff were somehow busy but it did not appear doing much actual work. My server forgot my utensils, my coffee, and never came back to check on me. I ended up flagging down another server to get a coffee refill. Later I had to flag down another server for the check. It seems they are missing customer service training and or management. It’s not really a good experience."
"Excellent service, drinks. Bartender Jeff is the best!! Tried the Martini Espresso, fresh grounded coffee, was key. Also tried an Old Fashioned, really good too. Last as a late midnight snack we tried the cheese curds and they were amazing! Highly recommended spot to check out."
"Hobnob has always been a go-to spot for great coffee, but their new dinner menu is a game-changer! I had the bone marrow and stuffed arancini to start, and both were absolutely amazing, rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the service was top-notch, (Well done Sean) and the timing of each course was impeccable. For the main course, my group ordered the Flat Iron Marsala, which was cooked perfectly to order, tender, juicy, and full of depth. My friend tried the crispy sesame cauliflower, and while it was a lighter option, the flavors were just as satisfying. Overall, Hobnob has truly elevated its offerings with this dinner menu. Whether you’re stopping by for a cozy evening meal or just looking to try something new, I highly recommend giving it a try!"
"Very cute, easy to find breakfast spot attached to the Hotel Fort Des Moines! Wasn’t more than half full when we were sat. Server came over right away, took our orders, and we got our breakfast pretty quickly. Then not even a bite into our breakfast a different server came over and just dropped our check off. Didn’t ask if everything was good or if we needed anything else. Also weird the check got dropped so early because we both wanted coffees to go, but felt like the bill was already rung up and that was that. Our original server never stopped by after again to check in after either. I ordered Avocado Toast add on Salmon, as you can tell by my photos there was no salmon, very let down, especially because no one checked in to make sure everything was okay or if we needed anything else. Our server also didn’t write down our orders or repeat them back which is probably why she forgot or didn’t hear the add on salmon I ordered. We dropped our card on the check and time went by we ate our entire meal and then had to ask someone how to check out, oh we had to go up to the counter, which again, no one told us, and the place wasn’t busy so we never saw anyone else check out at the counter. The French toast compote stuff on the top was super weird. They used the frozen strawberries and sauce and then added a couple fresh cut strawberries to make them look fresh? The frozen strawberries were so gross looking and didn’t get ate. All in all super weird experience, I will not be back, but maybe it was an off day for everyone. They also don’t put ice in their water"
