What People Are Saying
from Google"Unassuming coffee shop; cute but simple decor with a cozy feel. Drinks are spot on with some unique flavor combinations. Highly recommend this locally owned establishment. Oatmilk spice latte is a 'must try' and chocolate croissant a tasty treat!"
"This place is good enough to make me wish I lived on the south side. I can't believe I didn't know about it before. DELICIOUS speciality espresso drinks and the freshest samosas.in town. They even have a "samoich," which is spinach, brie, tamarind and a flattened samosa on a brioche bun. Absolutely incredible. If you didn't already feel that your life needed a Nepali coffee shop, you should now. Just the best. Can't recommend it enough."
"I highly recommend Mayalu Coffee. I stopped in because I was looking for momo, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The space had a calm, welcoming atmosphere, and we were greeted warmly by who I believe is the owner, despite arriving about 45 minutes before closing. We ordered two chicken momos for dine-in, which came out quickly and tasted fresh and well prepared. As we were finishing up, new customers walked in just minutes before closing, and the owner greeted them with a smile and took their full order without hesitation. That level of professionalism really stood out. Clean space, great food, fair prices. I’ll definitely be back. Pro tip: The shop is next to Subway (not inside the strip mall GPS may suggest) and has a drive-through."
"This place was so good. They are a small place but offer several different types of seating. I had the Chai with oat milk, my friend the dragon fruit drink. Both were great. We had the dumplings and both the chicken and vegetables curry pasties, we finished things off with the chocolate avalanche. Service was cheerful and not intrusive. They are closing a bit earlier in these winteronths at 5pm. They said that they planned to go back to later hours in spring. I would 100% Go back again they are my new favorite place."
"Just brewed up a cup of joy at Mayalu Coffee in Des Moines! We're from Boulder, CO, and usually, I'm not one to spill the beans, but this place is a game-changer! Top-shelf coffee and service that warmed my heart. 5 stars isn't enough - I'd give it a whole cup! Cheers!!"
