What People Are Saying
from Google"Purchased two bags of loose leaf tea. The "Gertrude of Belgium" which is a wonderful fruity and chocolatey black tea that is delicious enough to count as dessert! And the "Joan of Arc." The owner and tea master, Grace is a delightful and knowledgeable person with so many wonderful stories to share. Highly recommend taking the time to stop in. A true gem in Dubuque. And an unforgettable encounter."
"This place is wonderful! The owner is very knowledgeable about the health benefits of tea and helped me select the right blends. She was amazing with my daughter, very patient and kind. She even has tea blends for children. Not something I've seen anywhere else. Next time we are in Dubuque, we will definitely be going back! Adding a picture of the tea cup and saucer I bought at ByzanTEAum filled with a tea latte made with the tea blend I bought. Beautiful and delicious!"
"The owner is clearly knowledgeable in her products and teas and takes the time to explain what goes into her teas and the benefits that each tea provides. I left the store feeling valued with an amazing tea blend, which has proven to be quite tasty!"
"So happy we have a store like this in town. The owner was so nice and helpful. Can’t wait to try more!"
"I don't say this lightly. Byzanteaum is one of the single most unique and quite frankly special shops I have ever had the pleasure of patronizing. If you are a tea drinker or are a Christian, please consider making a trip immediately. In addition to their expansive tea selection of both very high and rare quality teas (in truly unique and thoughtful arrangements), they have plenty of religious items in the Orthodox tradition. Icons (of all variety), beeswax candles, incense, censers, triptychs, psalters, study bibles, pocket bibles, anointing oil. If you are a Christian of any persuasion, this should be a definite destination. If you are an Orthodox Christian and anywhere near Dubuque, this store is an absolute must see. I cannot say how impressed I was by this store's collection of thoughtful religious artifacts and prayer aides. The proprietor and tea-master is Magdalene Grace Dean. She is kind and unusually knowledgeable on everything tea, but she is particularly knowledgeable as a professional iconographer. The reverence she has for her craft and her dedication to the faith is truly inspirational. Magdalene was more than gracious and even blessed me with a tour of her studio. I gained an undying appreciation for the sheer technical skill and demanding devotion than iconographers have to produce such beautiful icons that enrich our lives so very much. Her work is also diverse and shows a rare level of talent. I found myself quite moved by several icons she had created. If you are in the Dubuque area, please consider patronizing this unique and special business. It's certainly worth checking out regardless of who you are, on the sheer basis of its uniqueness."
