from Google"We had an amazing visit and overview of Verena Street Coffee Roaster’s high-calibre facility. A renowned brand in Iowa and cherished across the Midwest — it’s clear why their coffee beans are top quality. The facility itself is fascinating, modern, and well-managed. A special thank you to Maegan, who guided us with so much knowledge, patience, and enthusiasm. She explained every detail clearly, shared valuable insights, and made the tour both engaging and memorable. Her hospitality truly enhanced our experience. As a coffee enthusiast currently on a fellowship in the U.S., this visit was incredibly inspiring and will be very helpful when I return to the Philippines. Thank you, Verena Street Coffee Roaster! ☕👏"
"Absolutely delicious, satisfyingly fresh. I ordered direct and bought the 5lb bag whole bean Sumatra. So rich, full-bodied tasting. You can tell it has been recently roasted. Their customer service is fast, friendly and resolution-oriented. Highly recommend — beats a stale bag of Starbucks."
"Verena Street Sunday Drive Swiss Water Decaf is THE best decaf I have ever tasted! I use the whole bean type and grind my own coffee. I have been drinking decaf coffee for several years and only drink the Swiss water method variety. I have had OK brands over the years and recently wanted to try something new. I happened upon this company and what really caught my eye was the Dubuque, Iowa connection. I was born and raised in Iowa and always like to patronize Iowa businesses. After receiving my first shipment of Sunday Drive I promptly ordered several more bags so I never run out! The coffee has a rich, smooth taste and is definitely the best decaf roast I have ever had. I highly recommend trying this coffee! ☕️"
"UPDATE 1/2025: As of this update we have bought 7 to 12 bags of Sunday Drive every week for the last year. We refuse to run out. This decaffeinated product is the best on the market. ZERO chemical process always. Love you guys . (Original Post) It was great to visit the place where my favorite coffee is made. The receptionist was pleasant, and helpful. She taught us about the pour over method of brewing as well."
"Verena Street Shot Tower Espresso: Verena Street Coffee was founded in late 2010 and provides their coffee to 800+ stores in the Midwest. They roast, blend, and package their coffee in Dubuque, Iowa. Their name derives from a street in Iowa that contained only five houses comprised of the founder's family. In the early 2000s the street was annihilated to make room for highway expansion, but the name lives on in the coffee. For my first review from their brand, I went with a whole bean bag of their Shot Tower Espresso blend. The company describes that blend as having a " smooth yet sharp character with no bitterness. The delicately dark roast level results in a taste and aroma that is full-bodied with a sweet and creamy complexity." Beans for their signature espresso blend are selected from Central America, South America and Indonesia in order for a unique and nuanced flavor profile. I found this particular roast to not only be delicious, but one of my new favorites. I'll be on the lookout for more of their blends at my local grocer.
