"I'm kicking myself for waiting this long to stop in and give Harry's a try. I spotted at least a dozen menu items that sounded amazing, but I settled on the cinnamon French toast with a side of bacon. Everything was perfect, and I already have my next several orders planned out. Service was great too. I don't think my coffee mug stayed empty for more than a few seconds at a time. To me, that constant flow of coffee is one of the signs of a great breakfast diner. I had read about this place opening in local newspaper articles, so it was cool to see all the decor celebrating the owner's father and the impact he had on Iowa City. Though they've only been open for a few months, Harry's feels like an Iowa City classic that's just kind of always been here, and I hope they stick around for a very long time. Edit: I've been back several times now, and everything is consistently amazing. I'll keep adding photos of my favorite dishes."

"We went to Harry’s first time today. We were told to find our own seats as it was not busy. This is 2pm on a Sunday. We ordered drinks and three appetizers. The appetizers were good. We ordered a chicken Caesar salad, a Harry smash burger, a patty melt, a bacon burger, and a mushroom and Swiss burger. Nothing too fancy and no substitutions were made. We waited for over 45 minutes for our food. We told a different waitress we now needed our food to go instead. Our son had to leave for work. Our waitress never came to offer refills on drinks; they were all empty. We waited longer and another ten minutes goes by when I asked again and they said it was being put in containers. Another ten minutes proceeds to go by when I get to the bar where the waitresses are and ask again for our food and they once again say it should be ready soon. At this point, I have already paid twenty minutes ago and our whole party is standing up at the table. Finally the waitress brings us the bags and apologizes for the long wait with no explanation and no offer to make it right to us. Heard another table nearby had to ask about their food as well. Once we were able to eat food order wasn’t even correct. We had a second mushroom and Swiss burger and not a bacon burger. We will not be going back."

"We stopped in for breakfast in May of 2024 and were very surprised at how good the food was. It had kind of a diner vibe and the service was fair. We had the Harry's cheesesteak hash and the chicken and waffles. Both meals were excellent. We hope to go back soon because there were so many other good menu options that we would like to try."

"Excellent food and service! Great atmosphere. We were trying to eat down the street but there was an hour wait and discovered Harry's where we got right in. We're glad that we did because Harry's is excellent! We had the Harry's big breakfast prepared different ways."
