from Google"A wonderful find stopping off of US Hwy 218 in Iowa City. Started with samosas then had the Palm Butter Sauce and the Oxtail Pepper Soup both with fufu (a doughyy West African and Caribbean staple made by pounding cassava, yam, or plantain into a smooth paste). No shortage of flavor to the sauce and soup. Tastes were incredible. Only complaint is the bathroom is a bit of a challenge to get to especially is you are handicapped."
"I would say a 4.5. I recommend looking at the menu before and possibly looking up some of the dishes if you aren't familiar with this type of cuisine. I highly recommend the plantains and the jollof rice, no meat. I picked my meat out, but that was my personal preference. My partner enjoyed his steak jollof a lot. The samosas were good and we enjoyed the sauce that was served with it. We will return! Note: Yes, it's a small place with limited parking, and the bathroom is in an awkward spot, but the food was great and flavorful and the service was great. I don't think the location should take away from the star rating when the food is good."
"I’m very disappointed, sent my driver 45 minutes to pick up this meal and the portion size is insanely small for the price. I don’t think I’ll recommend anyone here anymore because you don’t get enough for the price. Container isn’t full and 1/4 is just oil. Fufu was additional price and again portion size too small.. Asked for spice on the side and did not receive it & cassava leaf is very oily. Spoke to the manager who offered no support at all, didn’t offer a credit for a return visit or anything. Guess I’ll just stick to Restaurant Già Express"
"Everything was really good! The woman asked if we had been there before and we said we hadn’t so she helped us figure out what to order and was so nice! She asked if we had any food allergies. She brought the food out for us and brought us this really delicious hot sauce that complimented the food perfectly! Pricey but worth it- I’ll definitely come back."
"First time visit — I was pleasantly surprised to find an extensive Mediterranean menu in addition to African and Caribbean. My lamb shawarma salad wasn’t memorable - I can’t recommend it - but the gyro salad was much better. The hummus also wasn’t exceptional, other than having a peanut butter flavor which was odd. The fried bread, on the other hand, was delicious. Overall, a bit of a disappointment."
