"I never give one star but for the first time I ordered the fried cat fish nuggets was greasy and the pork chop was dried. The side dishes cabbage was mushy and candied yams was soupy. Almost $40 spent but we could not eat the food. The people there was friendly. We won’t come back. It’s hard to find really good soul food in Iowa and we’re a huge fans of soul food."

"First time trying Royceann soul food and my experience was ok. The customer service wasn’t bad. I order catfish nuggets and tried the Mac-n-cheese, cabbage, collard greens and yams. I have to be honest it took 20mins to receive my food after ordering it fish only takes 7min to fry and everything else was already on the hot plate bar so I was a little annoyed with how long it took to get my food. Also, the server didn’t wash her hands before fixing my food. The food was high in sodium and I couldn’t eat it. I asked for extra crispy fish but it was fried hard instead. To be honest the place is clean but the food wasn’t what I expected and I hated that. Was really excited to try. Don’t know if I would try again maybe I caught them on a bad day…"
