"The wife and I came here to try new places. We were both hungry, and had the morning thirst for something hot and caffinated. A warm welcome as we walked in which was pleasant. There are no food options here beyond pastries, and a few pre packaged bread items ( which for me is a let down ) We ordered the Pleasantville ( iced ) and a spiced Chai ( hot ) The drinks were good and served fresh and timely. There were about 15 people in the establishment at 8am on a Thursday. Welcoming layout for students, business, and people working remotely as well. Overall I give yours place a 4 being there were no meal/food options."

"This coffee shop is a regular stop for my friend. Today, my friend and I visited around 6:51 a.m. to purchase almond croissants and tea lattes. We were not aware of the store’s exact opening time before entering. When we walked in, the owner (wearing a green hoodie and a hat) told us the shop would open at 7:00 a.m. We said that was fine and were willing to wait. However, he then asked what we wanted, and when we said almond croissants, he responded very rudely and told us to take them. Shortly after, someone who appeared to be his son or a young employee asked for our order. We repeated the same items and mentioned that we were happy to wait another 10 minutes for the drinks. He said he could prepare the latte immediately, so we placed the order. That is when the real issue began. The owner came back and started yelling at us in a very rude and disrespectful tone, saying we should not have placed a latte order and that he did not want to do multiple transactions. He used harsh and unnecessary language and questioned our honesty. We tried calmly explaining that we were willing to wait, but his employee asked us to place the order. Unfortunately, he did not listen and continued to speak rudely. It was a very unpleasant experience, especially early in the morning, and it negatively affected our entire day. To be honest, the latte itself was also not good—this is separate from the interaction. We respectfully told him that this is not the right way to treat customers. Good customer service matters just as much as good coffee, and sadly, this experience lacked both. Despite the unpleasant experience described above, my friend still left a 15% tip on our order. This was done purely out of courtesy and respect for service staff, even though the interaction and overall experience were very poor."

"The Trading Grounds Coffee Shop had a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The staff was friendly and patient when I was deciding on an order. I found the Caramel Apple Cider to be pretty good. Sweet but not overly so. And it was prepared in a decent amount of time. I’m not sure what their coffee specials are like but I plan to visit again to find out."

"The selection and atmosphere are great and the staff is always helpful and friendly. Love the seasonal drinks as well as their regular signature drinks. The Pleasantville and Curious Chai are two of my favorites."

"Love this little local to Marion coffee shop! The staff is amazing and they will learn your favorite drink if you stop by enough times! Their coffee drinks are second to none and have a smooth taste and the coffee is not bitter. Always fast and efficient and a wonderful experience every time. I love that they do specialty drinks that coincide with the themes of Linn-Mar Fine Arts groups and sports teams! Always fun to stop in on the way to an event at the high school and pick up a drink to go."
