What People Are Saying

from Google

"Probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had! The hash brown is a fantastic addition; it is a little sweet, a little salty, just the perfect combo! We also had the chicken sandwich, and while it was good, I prefer the breakfast sandwich a hundred times over. The cafe is also charming. Small but pleasant atmosphere! This place is a must if you are in the city!"

"Great place for a solid breakfast sandwich arguably competitive with the clearly the best known breakfast sandwich in town. This is more accessible and a different flavor. It's spicy with the jalapeno jam and full of different textures. Def not a classic breakfast sando but worth the price and great bite. The coffee was also excellent and we are picky matcha drinkers and this was was some of the best matcha in the city. Worth the visit"

"I tried the Americano and the oat-milk latte. Both drinks were a bit on the mild side, I wish the coffee had a stronger flavor. The beans had a noticeable sour note, so if you prefer a nuttier profile, this might not be the best fit. The sandwich was pretty good, but the hash brown was a bit too greasy for my taste."

"Allez Café is an awesome coffee shop and bakery! Service was quick even though it was quite busy in this small shop. I ordered the Rotating Cream Top and Breakfast Sandwich. The coffee was good but the sandwich was great! To echo many others, this is one of the best breakfast sandwiches around. Will be back!"

"My fiancé and I had a rare day off together a few months ago, but I remember our experience at Allez like it was yesterday. We made the decision to start our special day off together at Allez Café in hopes of an experience that would get our day off to a good start. We were aware of the hype that surrounded this spot, and we prepared ourselves for the chaos that typically comes with being a viral breakfast spot. We quickly found out what all the hype was about, as I will discuss in my review below. As an Eastern European food connoisseur new to the Chicago area, I have carefully constructed a rating system that reflects my personal thoughts, feelings, and experience. Food: 8/10 We ordered the Breakfast Sando and an almond croissant. The almond croissant was what I would expect both in looks and taste. To say the almond croissant was anything short of flaky, sweet perfection would be a damn lie, but to be honest, I have never met an almond croissant that I didn't love. Now lets discuss the star of the show.... The Breakfast Sando. I truly see what all the hype is about. The egg is fluffy, the hashbrown is a perfect square with great crisp, and the sauce glued everything together. The sandwich was a rich delicacy and everything comes together in harmony. Upon one of my first bites, I think I mistook the unique richness of this sandwich for a "fishy" taste, but in the best possible way. Perhaps this was a flavor rollercoaster that I had never known to exist in a breakfast sandwich. The flavor is unique but in the best possible way. I would recommend grabbing a napkin or two before digging into this delicacy. Drink: 7/10 I am usually a coffee drinker but opted out of a drink because I was already over caffeinated. My fiancé got the Turkish Matcha. I'm not super familiar with matcha, but this matcha was rich and felt satisfyingly complex. As I took a few sips, I felt as if I was sitting in a house with fancy wallpaper. Atmosphere: 7/10 The décor of this place provides customers with a modernized, retro vibe. The vibe is fun and comforting, unless you hate the color salmon for some reason. The café was packed upon our arrival. Many would have considered this overwhelming, but all I could see was a small business that has truly outdone themselves. To be fair, it can be a bit of a burden to get a seat in the small area, but anything larger would take away from the café's small/comfy aesthetic. Definitely don't show up under the impression that you will be sitting at a table right away. Likelihood of Return 8/10: If I'm in the area in the future its an absolute yes, but I don't live in the direct area and there are dozens of other Chicago breakfast sandwiches that I would like to try. They do a phenomenal job though and I would recommend them to anyone in the area."
