"My first experience at Almendro was good. However, my second experience was disgusting. I witnessed the cashier (Jasmine) making my food without gloves. Also, the tray my food was served on was dirty & there was hair on it. Won’t be returning, a waste of $15. I couldn’t even eat my food. The pastries are often stale as well."

I stumbled across a really nice spot in Hyde Park (next to the Hyde Park Arts Center), Almendro Cafe. I had the avocado toast and coffee...so delicious. It's a great place for breakfast/brunch food, beautiful ambiance and a nice art gallery next door...a recommend. 💯💯"

"Beautiful place! We tried the avocado toast with a perfectly cooked over medium egg. And the veggie sandwich which was piled high with fresh veggies and a delicious thin egg! The cold brew was generous for a medium and caramel in flavor! The earl grey tea was delicious and aromatic! We will definitely come back and are excited to try the empanadas, tamales, chilequiles and tacos too!"
