I travel around Chicago creating food photos and videos for restaurants, and this croissant and tea combo here at Bittersweet Pilsen was honestly one of the best experiences I've had lately flaky, buttery, and perfectly baked. The space is bright, creative, and peaceful, perfect for brainstorming or working on new ideas. I really regretted not bringing my camera today, but even with my phone, everything looked picture-perfect! Can’t wait to come back (next time with my full gear)."

"We had Bittersweet Bakery create our wedding cake, desserts, and small bites — and everything was absolutely incredible and beautiful! They made a special small wedding cake just for me since I can’t eat gluten, while also providing a regular sheet cake for all of our guests. Every bite was delicious, and the dessert table was stunning — the presentation and attention to detail were perfect. The small bites were a huge hit and truly elevated our reception. We can’t say enough good things — we highly recommend Bittersweet Bakery for any wedding or special event!"

"Woke up early Sunday and finally made it to Bitter Sweet in Pilsen. Got there right when they opened, quiet morning, sun coming up, perfect start to the day. I ordered a hot chocolate and a pecan roll. That roll was amazing. Soft and fluffy inside, light crisp on the outside, covered in this buttery caramel glaze that soaked in just right. Pecans on top were roasted and a little salty, which gave it the crunch it needed. Every bite was balanced. Hot chocolate was rich, creamy, and actually tasted like real chocolate. Dipped the roll in it and yeah… perfect combo. The shop itself was calm, cozy, and the folks behind the counter were super friendly. No crowd yet, just an easy start to the morning. Left feeling like my Sunday was off to the best kind of start."

"There are several things I love about this bakery but most of all is the bright space, perfect for a coffee date/meeting, or to get some work done. I love that I don't even have to wear headphones bc the playlist is always great. My fav order is the blueberry scone, rice krispy treat, and mallorca melon tea hot or iced."

"We had our personal two-tiered wedding cake made by Bittersweet and it was SO perfect! We are so very glad that we chose Bittersweet. We wanted to get a smaller cake for just my husband and I to cut and then we had additional desserts for our guests. We chose the two-tiered small cake with buttercream frosting and it was so picturesque and also tasted delicious :) We had our florist add cake flowers but we also could have chosen to get some added from Bittersweet. We decided to do a cake tasting (for an additional cost) and it was so worth it and so much fun! We got a to go box of a variety of different cake flavors and different frostings and you just mix and match to figure out which combination you would like for your cake. It was a fun wedding prep activity to do and made it extra fun deciding on our cake!"
