"I kept seeing Build Coffee as I passed by on Metra and thinking: "I need to check that out!" Finally made it, during the height of Saturday afternoon: Pack your patience! Place is cool, quirky, busy (a true cross section of humanity), and jamming with music. Long line, which gave me plenty of time to study the menu (turns out only the weekend placard items were available). I ordered the grilled veggie sandwich ($10: got the last one!) and Iced Americano ($4): got the former immediately; 20-minute wait for the latter (but they did warn me up front about the drink delay). So I found a corner to perch, wait, and people watch. Once my drink was ready, I grabbed it and escaped to an introvert haven: the outside patio area. Peaceful compared to inside, and actually plenty of seating! I unwrapped the biggest veggie sandwich I've ever seen, which was fabulous and filling (even for hard core carnivores). The Iced Americano was robust yet smooth, very satisfying for espresso lovers. So I would like to return, maybe during the week or early on Saturday so I can enjoy the vibe and try the popular Jambon Buerre before it sells out...🤞"

"Nice spot, great coffee and vibes. I like the amenities especially for remote workers to get out of the house and have somewhere nice to work and have great coffee. Lastly, I like that they also have opportunities for families to participate in activities. Great community spot!!"

"Their rose cardamom coffee is the best! I tried their Little one&two, and it's amazing! I just wish they had gluten-free bread and plant based protein alternatives, but the slaw + the chili spread with the honey and scrambled eggs was really good. The only thing gluten-free at this cafe are their packaged cookies :(. The only vegan + GF item is their salad fyi. Their outdoor area could use a little help, but it does the job."

"Lovely small independent coffee shop near U of C campus! I had the cardamom rose iced latte special and it was delicious. Service was friendly and quick … small but sweet book and zine collection for purchase — best part is the hidden patio covered in greenery and cute chairs and tables to sit outside, loved this! ✨✨✨"

"Literally the best coffee shop/meeting space/mini bookstore (have you seen the zine collection?!?!)/artist display/comfy culture cafe on the south side. The seasonal rotating lattes are a must try; NOT overly sweet and always strong enough (s/o to a cafe that pulls dbl shots only!!). The team is always so welcoming and I trust them :) My week is not complete if I haven’t made a visit at least once. Come through, neighbors!"
