What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"Even though the cafe was very busy, the atmosphere was lovely and the service was excellent. The staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and welcoming despite how crowded it was. We tried the Biscuit with Butter & Seasonal Jam, Tahini Banana Bread, Turkish-ish Breakfast, and the Chicken Shawarma Wrap. Everything was very good and extremely filling. Our favorites were the Biscuit with Butter & Seasonal Jam and the Turkish-ish Breakfast. Because of the incredible demand, many bakery items were already sold out by the time we arrived, so we couldn’t try everything. From what I could see, the Boreka also seems to be a many customer favorite😉!"

"Food and service were excellent. The quality of the food was great. Nice and relatively quiet (even with a lot of other customers at their tables), which was nice. Highly recommend it!"

"I’m so glad to have another go-to bakery in the neighborhood. The pastry case has a wide variety, with a bunch of sweet and savory options. I can’t think of a single time I’ve ever gotten a disappointing pastry from here. My personal favorites are the shakshuka bun and the baklava bun. Both are decent sized buns, which makes it easy to share a few bites with friends. My sister also got a strawberry matcha which she loved. To me, the prices are reflective of the quality of baked goods this place has and I appreciate how transparent their front of house staff is about their service fee. I’m happy to pay it since, given the quality of food, service and atmosphere, I would’ve been tipping 20% anyway!"

"Very good pastries, but I found the lattes we ordered to be slightly long on the espresso. The pastries had great flavor but was slightly dry. In regards to the service fees, I have no problem with them. It’s great that you’re paying your employees fairly and providing health insurance. I think they are very transparent on it and handle it well."

"The food is disappointing and THEY AUTOMATICALLY ADD A 24% SERVICE AND EMPLOYEE INSURANCE CHARGE TO YOUR BILL! paying over $70 for 2 people to have breakfast, WITHOUT DRINKS, is completely insane. They charge a mandatory 20% service charge, even if you just order a premade pastry they just have to put in a bag, and then they charge an additional 4% for employee insurance. This is optional but we were never given the option to remove it as we were not notified of this. Do they not pay their employees appropriately? Or provide insurance for them? I tip well, but tipping should never be mandatory and forced, especially when employees are being paid a regular wage (not servers), and 24% is just plain theft. I’m extremely turned off from this place. You can see from the picture that my food was extremely dry and hard to eat, not seasoned at all and looked like it was missing a key ingredient mentioned on the menu."

"An excellent compliment to Gailt. We tried this new(ish) spot for a take-out lunch. First, the decor is very well designed and welcoming. A nice front..."
